iPhone SE (2016) 11pro to se 2020 battery

When I take my evening power walks I hardly notice the SE in my pocked and I can easily use it with one hand while walking if I get a text. With the iPhone 11 and even the XS I felt the weight in my pocket and to use one handed (my left hand always has a bottle of water in it) is virtually impossible. I returned my 11 within 2 weeks and went to my old SE until I got the new SE on launch day. Battery life is so-so, about the same as my old iPhone 8 but I do not regret this decision. One handed use and light weight. Oh and as others have mentioned, during this era of pandemics and masks Touch ID rules imho!

I love my Pro Max, don't get me wrong, but like you say, now that nice weather is here I'm outside a lot with shorts on and my Max is just too heavy. I don't even care about battery life, I'm seldom in a situation where I'm without a charger nearby. Either at home, at work or in my car so that's a non-issue for me. I'm just waiting until next month and I'll be rocking a new SE myself as my daily. Kinda strange, it feels like moving backwards but forward at the same time, if that makes any sense.

Makes sense. Nothing wrong with enjoying a little nostalgia too, but only on the outside. Inside this baby is a beast!

It’s too bad they couldn’t have made the new SE thicker to fit an extra 800-1000mah battery in there. 1800 is not enough if you don’t have access to a charger. But if they added that extra bulk, people would be complaining it was too thick/heavy so I guess there’s really no way to beat physics. Small battery means it won’t last very long for some users.

I believe the only negative aspect of this device is the battery. However for many people, myself included, there is always somewhere to charger. I am always either at home, office or car. Even if I go out for lunch, dinner and an evening walk the phone has been quickly charged by one of my Qi wireless chargers. On Sunday I was out from 10AM-7PM. I left with a battery at 88% and with a few short phone calls, a bunch of texts and PMs on Twitter by the time I git back at 7PM I was still left with 32%. I was in a friends car and he only had a USB type C charger but I made it thru the day! Could be worse!

SE is a cheap old iPhone with A13 for people that cant afford expensive iphones. That’s about it.
This is just wrong. It depends on the user's needs. No matter what you *can* afford, it's just foolish to buy more than you need.

Yeah, the battery life is a bummer. I was hoping that taking out 3D Touch would allow a bigger battery, and/or the efficiency of the A13 would help. Same battery life as the iPhone 8 is pretty much what kept me from getting the SE.

I get it. As I said, that is the only negative I can find with this phone. You need to be someone who has access to a charger in the middle of the day to not have problems with battery life. Thankfully for me it is not an issue but I do understand that it could be reason enough for some to decide against buying this phone.
