Release day iPhone 12 PRO

It's the only phone I have and I use it daily. I do partial charges multiple times a day but I only use the 5W charger (exclusively)
Current cycle count is 151 and battery capacity is still at 100%.

Applying 25% - 85% SOC rule since day 1....

Good job! That’s impressive.

✌️ questions for you.

Do you have optimized battery on?
Do you leave your phone charged overnight?

Still at 100%, 22 charge cycles .
Its only matter of time until the below occurs...
Lol! :D Indeed!

I am seeing a lot of people in this thread saying “I only charge between 20-80/85%” or “mostly charge to 80%”

In a few months when it drops to 99% or even has a multiple % drop to like 97% they are going to have a meltdown 😂

Happens every year here and on Reddit.

“my battery health dropped 3% in a week, I BLAME THAT DARN NEW iOS UPDATE!”

Apple need to get rid of this reading and only bring it up when the battery hits 85% as a warning that it’s close to requiring replacement.

My 11 Pro Max has been sitting on 93% for many months now, yet battery life still lasts me well over a day of heavy usage, I can still get over 10hours SOT pretty easily, and having watched the below video I discover that my Battery Health is probably closer to 98% as battery’s actual capacity is over 4140mAh according to Log Aggregator. This explains a little more:

* I do have it on however I manage the optimization myself which is explained in below link.
* I do leave it on charge all night however it does not charge over 85%

This is basically what I have been doing;

I have a release day 12 Pro Max. I don’t baby the battery, I replace yearly so I don’t mind a slight drop. I charge nightly with Apple’s MagSafe Duo and prior to it’s release the MagSafe charger. In the morning my battery is at 100% and I typically have between 15-25% battery remaining when I place it on the charger every night. Rarely, if ever, do I charge throughout the day. Optimized charging is turned on.

Battery health - 100%
Cycles - 146

I received my 12 Pro on 10/28. It's currently showing 99.9% battery after 66 charge cycles (according to iMazing). I charge it overnight, every other day, using optimized charging.

My previous 7 Plus, which I had for four years and a month, was at 89% when I retired it (forgotten how many charge cycles - but well over 400, for sure). I charged it overnight every night, using optimized charging since it became available.

seriously, wtf?

What am I doing wrong???

I have my 12 PM since launch day and charge cycle is at 14x now.
The battery health now is at 96%.

I have been using Magsafe charger most of the time. And I reckon it's degrading faster than my previous iPhones.

What an amazing phone , my 8 plus’s battery is utterly pathetic in comparison . Every day I wake up to find it at 40ish % despite doing very little with it . I think I’ll get a 12 pro max soon . I’ll have to 😆

I feel like my iPhone 12 Pro Max is not lasting as long as it used to but maybe it is just placebo. I am tempted to restore it but I cant be bothered to set up all my banking apps etc. from scratch (login gets lost after a reset)

12 PM, 6 months later
100% capacity, around 90 cycles
Battery lasts 1.5 days easy
Optimized charging turned on but never really used since I rarely charge over night, I only charge during my commute and sometimes with a 5W brick when low.

What program are you using?

How to check battery health with Windows?
I used iMazing with windows to check the battery health of my Apple devices back when I had a windows machine for my primary computer. It costs $ but it’s worth it - back in those days I used it for backing up my mobile devices too.

Still at 100% but I've only had mine since the end of January. I do a mixture of wireless charging with MagSafe and fast wired charging. I'm trying to limit the use of fast wired charging. I've got a MagSafe in my bedroom and living room. I'll get one for my dining room and kitchen to encourage myself to do it more.

I find that after each iOS update, it drops by about 2% (or maybe just coincidental as this is when I check/notice it). I am down to 90% on an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

It's not if, but when I get a battery replacement soon, I'm staying far away from this MagSafe charger, sticking to my old Belkin QI 5W charger, Apple wired in my car. Both of those were kind to my old XS Max for 2 years.

In my opinion since my first post 3 months ago, this MagSafe has done far more damage to the battery / it's health than good. 90%, 57 cycles total. 😐
