There's no damage, and it's not "overcranking". The moment you switch to HDR content, it's 1000 nits by default. 1600 nits is not "small areas", but as big areas as needed by image.
Best OLED (or at least the one you can find in Tab S9 Ultra) will give you peak 900 nits in HDR. Difference is visible in normal lighting. There's no visual difference in black point in dark room. Mini-LEDs do not have retention image. Idk what kind of other differences in quality you need/see on tablet.
Luckily Apple thinks the same way, at least for now. I'm pretty sure Apple engineers know a thing about tech and their knowledge is quite more extensive than that of local experts. I'm considering this fruitful conversation over.
