I see some of the posts about battery life. Seems most are 4 to 7 hours of usage. I also see a couple that are getting 10 to 12 hours of usage.
One in particular is 4% left, 12 hours usage, I day 19 hours standby. Said they did the following:
Listen to almost 2 hours of music. But played jetpack game and need for speed too. Again I have everything turned on, everything, except bluetooth and exchange. Best results i have had yet.

Mine is running at 9% left, 4 hours used, 2 days 10 hours standby which certainly is not great i my opinion...

How in the world could that be compared to most of the others it just seems to be a huge disparity.

The posts you are seeing with 4-7 hours of usage have less than 24 hours of standby. You have 58 hours of standby.

    Your phone is doing great.

Usage can mean many things. Listening to mp3s will eat less battery than tracking your cheating spouse with Find my Friends. If I can get through 16 hours without needing a recharge using all the stuff the iPhone can do, I'm happy. I recharge it every night and am ready to go in the morning.

    "Siri, where's my wife?"

My iPhone 4S last 5-6 hours of usage from playing youtube, email, websurfing and listening to music. I am very happy with the battery life. 12 hours sound like amazing.

    Yours is fine.

Why do so many people seem to find it such a hassle to plug the phone in at night? Do you not ever sleep?

I get about that much out of my 4S, too. It all depends on my reception, though. If I have lower than 4 bars then the battery drains very fast.

exactly what battery times are people expecting? with heavy use i would say 4 hours is good, most people dont have time to be constantly on thier phone that long, and if they are on their phone that long its probably because they at home and its on charge, with normal use like browsing ehre and there , 2 hours music playback, a short game maybe id expect at least 7 hours usage, this is pretty normal by my experience, android and blackberry, i mean at work we have people bringing in their bb chargers coz about 3 hours of bbm would rinse the battery, so i just dont know what to expect from the battery life...

I average around 4hrs of usage which translates into 12hrs of real world usage which is enough to get me through a shift. With the way I run my phone(3 exchange accounts, BT constantly on, wifi usually on but not connected, a fair bit of 3G streaming depending on my mood) I find that completely exceptable. From the Android phones I have been using that is around double to battery life.
