Picked-up the Photive Natural Slim Case (#10 in list). It's a nice snug fit and doesn't add bulk. The edge does not rise above the glass, rather the edge curls in over the band which looks good, but at a cost to protection. I like the look of this case, but will look for another slim with a bit more protection.

I had been using the Incase Snap for iPhone5, but unlike the version for the 4S, this one feels too bulky. The edge rises high enough to protect the glass when placed face-down, but it feels too high and shows too much space between the band/glass and case. Not happy with the changes to the Snap and I'm waiting for an Incipio Feather to arrive.

Hi, I'm looking for a slim, clear case to show off my phone but protect it from scratching. I currently have the switcheasy nude, but I've found that it doesn't really "seal" and stuff will go down the sides of it and end up inside the case. Does the KaysCase HardSkin Cover have some kind of better seal or more snug fit so stuff is unable to fit down the edges around it?

It's pretty snug. I don't think anything would be able to get in between the case and the phone.

Stock is up on the Desmay Slim Case. I can't tell what's pictured on the website--does anyone have any idea if they are showcasing the transparent black or black case? I just ordered black because I figured my phone is black and it's not worth the wait for transparent black. Transparent black is sold out anyway. Should I have waited?

Finally in stock and I don't know if I want one anymore! I really liked it on my iPhone 4. Now that I think about it, I think I liked it because it made my iPhone 4 look like an iPhone 5!!;)

That`s the point--I want my iPhone 5 to stay looking like an iPhone 5 ;)

Just a side-note about my order:
I found out that the case pictured on the website is the transparent black, which is currently out of stock. I emailed Desmay over this and they gave me a full refund, no questions asked! Due to this amazing customer service I`ll be returning when stock for the transparent black case fills up.

The guy I spoke with also mentioned that the Black case is quite transparent. It`s tough to tell in the highly-photoshopped images on the FB page and website. It might be best to wait for side-by-side comparison photos to surface online after the first wave of shipments.

Their decision to use 100% photoshopped images when advertising the case is disappointing. Even now that the case has been "available" a week, it would've been nice to see some real photos of the cases.

I'm getting ready send back the extra cases. Anybody else have any questions before I pack them up and drop them in the mail tomorrow?

Just a quick note of thanks for the nice summary. While I had planned on a Desmay, the other minimalist cases on your list have been super. I especially like the feel and the fit of the Photive Natural Slim, and really don't feel a need to go much thinner! (I have the Feather too, but this one is a slightly better fit and the corners do not pop up in my pocket.)

Bodyguardz rear only, the sides are too thick and doesn't feel right.

I'll may look into this!

What I usually do when I get a new iPhone is diagonal cut off the corner with the camera and trip the tab off - never peeling off the back sticker that comes with it from the box.

I then place the iPhone in it's case and then forget about it! That way when the next model arrives (the iPhone 5S probably next?) - the back is perfect and the sides were relatively protected.

I find with the iPhone 4S and likely the iPhone 5, the front glass doesn't scratch or scuff at all with decent care. I don't like the feel of the overlays at all...

Contrary to the post above, the Photive Natural Slim does project above the glass. It's just very slight, with the raised bits only at the corner. You can slide a piece of paper between the glass and the tabletop when face down, but not much more.

I just tried this with mine, and I can get a paper under the top of the case but not the bottom. Is yours similar?

I can slide a strip of paper all the way through, just have to fit inside the corners. I can also put it on a book (for example) and hold it up to a light and see a slit of light underneath.

Possible manufacturing tolerances are fouling that part. Photive thinks they have a bevel though--it's advertised as such on Amazon.

Good to know, maybe the one I got is defective. I'll send them an email and see what's up.

Just got the Slight 5 delivered today, ordered it on release day. It barely fits onto the phone and is too small. It bubbles on all 4 sides of the phone, as a case that is slighty too small would. I bet you they designed this based off the leaked iPhone 5 designs (as many did) and the measurements are off.

I would absolutely pass on ordering this case and save yourself the time, money and hassle of dealing with a Hong Kong shipment. Trying to get a refund now.

Cases with bottom and top edges exposed are worthless IMO. That is where damage will occur. Same goes for cases without lay on table design. The desmay light has both fatal flaws. Would it kill them to cove the bottom edge and create a 2 mm lip above the screen?

I'm glad I chose to go the "find a cheap one that's exactly like the Desmay" route. The one I got from eBay fits and works without any issues.

I chose the slim type case because I'm careful enough to not drop my phone. I just wanted something as slim as possible that would provide basic scratch protection.

I got my Desmay iPhone 5 case last week. It comes with a free screen protector, too. I'm really happy with it so far. I ordered "transparent black," but they accidentally sent me an opaque black case instead (apparently, this has been a common issue). I contacted customer service and they responded immediately, saying that they'd send me the correct case, and that I could keep the old one. Great customer service.

The case is very, very thin, as expected. It's a thin plastic. It covers the entire perimeter and back of the iPhone, expect for the buttons, of course. The bottom is mostly left exposed because the speakers, charger, and headphones port are there. There is a little bumper/lip around the corners, so if it were to be dropped right on the bottom, I think the case would take the impact. Holding the phone, it still feels like an iPhone 5, which is what I wanted. If you run over it with a truck, no, it probably won't hold up. But, it will certainly protect it against dents and scratches from standard drops to the floor, which was my goal. I didn't want a case that looks like a monster truck tire (here's looking at you, Otterbox). I'd highly recommend the Desmay cases, if you want to keep the design and feel of your phone intact. Hopefully the images below will help those looking for a few more details on the case. As I mentioned before, Desmay sent me the opaque black case by accident, which is shown below. I can update the photos with the transparent black case when I get it, if anyone is interested.

I'd also add that I had no issues whatsoever with the case fitting the phone. In the past, I used an Otterbox Commuter case, and I think it took me longer to get that on the phone than this one. Yes, it fits super tight, but it's supposed to. Only took me about 10 seconds to get on.

Their stock images are the transparent ones. I just posted pictures of the opaque black case above, which they sent me by accident. I think the only main difference is that the Apple logo on the back shows through on the transparent case, but obviously does not on the opaque black case. It's up to you whether or not this is a big deal.

I bought the one from eBay in the op. Obviously you get what you pay for but it's a piece of crap. It doesn't fit the phone, some sides are snug and some lump out. I had to bend the case to make a corner fit. I bought 2 of them and they are both like this.

I ordered this from eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400329247663#ht_3766wt_1219

Despite what the pictures on the listing show, it is identical to the pictures you posted.

I can confirm it looks exactly like the pictures you posted and is exactly like you describe. The only difference is that there is no little "D" logo on the back. It also came with a screen protector. Plus it was only $4.

That is transparent black. Desmay is just stupid they have no real transparent black. You will get the same thing again. I just got a refund instead.
