I was truly in love with my 12 mini and even yesterday on these forums said it may be my favorite iPhone yet, at least since the 5.

Love the ease of one-handed use. However, I’m starting to realize my hands cramping when typing with both hands.

I’m on the phone with Apple now waiting to speak to someone. I’m going to return it for the 12 Pro.

My Stepmom got the 12 and I feel like it’s less bulky than my 11 Pro so that’s a Plus.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yes, I had a very similar experience.

I got the Mini on Friday and just kept smiling, enjoying the light and small feel, just delightful. But then little moments would sneak in when I wanted more screen, needed more screen—not to watch movies, but to read text on a screen.

The first (and only) night I used it lying down, I enjoyed how light it was until I realized that I was clinching my hands to hold on to the cute thing. My hands did not like that. I lay in bed thinking it’s a minor annoyance, but then so was holding a Max, so maybe I should get the phone that lets me see things easily (and other cool things about the Max.)

So that‘s exactly what I did the next day. Next morning, 8am, I’m at Apple buying a silver 128gb PM.

Fortunately, I can use the Mini as my work phone, and I am thankful to find a way to enjoy the phone because it really is a throwback to when phones were just phones. In 2020, I don’t feel like I carry and use a phone; I feel like I use a small computer so I need to accept what works best for me and let the past go.

I hope you find the 12 — or whatever phone you end up with — works well for what you need. And I hope you thoroughly enjoy it, too.

I'll be taking a closer look at my sister's 12 mini the next time I see her. I've got a 12 Pro and a 12 Pro Max right now and I'm trying to decide which one to keep. The mini seems like it would just be way too small when compared against the other two.

I understand. I was on the edge about getting one this past weekend but after playing with one in Best Buy for about 30 mins, I just couldn’t do it. I love the size of it but the screen was making me squint to read everything on it. I finally realized just how perfect my 11 Pro 256gb that I’ve had for a year is for me. Personally, 5.8 is perfect size and since I’ve got huge hands, it’s a lot easier to hold than the mini. It’s still tempting to get one though but my 11 Pro is the best iPhone I’ve ever owned between size and battery life.

I really like this post and I can see you went in with an open mind. After using the mini and the 12 ( not bashing either ) the vertical screen ( forums and safari was just night and day for me.

Waiting on a case to start using my Pro like a normal phone (rather than actively trying not to scratch it), but I can definitely say the thing is HEAVY. I think the camera module (LiDAR?) makes it a bit top-heavy and less ergonomic than the 11 Pro. It’s fine for two-handed use, certainly not the best in one hand, and a definite fat lip/chipped tooth waiting to happen if you should drop it on your face while reading in bed.

The 12 doesn’t appeal but I’m envious of its lighter weight.
