I’ll be the odd man out here, I just returned my 12 PM and went back to my 11 PM, the rounded sides of the 11 PM to me are much more comfortable to hold than the 12 PM... design wise, the 12 PM is a more beautiful design, but the little extra width mixed with the flat sides were, to me, uncomfortable... so I’ll keep using my 11 PM until next year when the urge to upgrade will outweigh the comfort. Just my opinion.

It is huge but after just a few days feeling used to it.

Don’t like the sharp edges or the leather case compared to the 11 Max and XS Max. Still use the 11 Max as my work phone and it feels thin and much smaller, despite the actual size difference not being that great.

Picked up my son’s 6S today and man it felt light and thin.

I use mine caseless - can't imagine the bulk with a case on. I think the perfect phone in this size would be a non-pro 12 Max as I have stated in other threads.

Admittedly, I have huge hands, but I find it very comfortable and a bit easier to hold than my 11PM.

Only uncomfortable aspect, which isn’t the phone’s fault really. Is when I spend too long in the cold. The frame gets so chilly, it aggravates my nerve damage. So I tend to cover it in the cold weather.

As my main computing device and camera, its absolutely the perfect size. The battery life is amazing compared to the very underwhelming battery life of the 6.1 iPhone 12 pro.

I love the screen and size is big, but I must say the iPhone 12 mini is a very handy phone and very comfortable. So, overall it's a great experience to have this gadget.

Thank You

I went 7 Plus > X > 12 Pro Max, and I’m glad to have a large screen again. Doesn’t seem any more cumbersome than my 7 Plus. It’s harder to use one handed than the X, but I knew that going in and will gladly trade that for a larger screen since my phone is my most used computer.

I thought I would get used to the size since my previous phones were the XS Max and 7 Plus but its been 2 weeks and the weight combined with the squared sides still feel uncomfortable. It FEELS much bigger than it actually is. Since I already gave my XS Max to a family member I'm thinking about just picking up a used 11 Pro Max (saw one on Swappa mint, 96% battery capacity for $700) and call it a day.

I went from an XS Max to a 12 Pro. I'm not liking the squared-off edges at all. My old XS Max feels so much better in my hand. The squared edges + Apple Silicon case (which is already breaking) is not working for me. It feels like a brick.

If I could make it work out financially in my best interest, I would go back to a 11 Pro Max.

coming from the X to this 12PM has not been a huge adjustment for me. Sure, I can’t easily use my thumb to pull down from the opposite end anymore but surprisingly I’m not bothered at all by it. It’s been pretty much enjoyable, I’ve missed having a larger phone. brings back the 5 nostalgia which was one of my favorite phones.

Wasn’t the x screen size bigger than the 7 plus?
I find the 12pm a tad too big to hold really comfy but that screen size and that battery! Awesome!! Oh, and the iPhone 4 design? The combination of straight edges and a stainless band, the heft and feel of quality it oozes. And, coming from a X, the improvement of the camera’s especially in the dark! I absolutely love this device and I’m using my iPad Pro 11 a lot less because of the screen size.
then again, I absolutely understand people finding it too big and making the decision the other way around!

Do you think 🤔 overall ownership will get uncomfortable over next coming years managing this size in day to day life ?
I carry my 12 Pro Max in-hand. If I do slip into a jean pocket, its temporary to free my hands. I'm not a heavy user of my phone so it's usually in a work bag. As for typing, phone in one hand, text with other. I saw this carrying sleeve with a wristlet, similar to the one Apple offers, but the one I have my eye on has a hand strap. I'm thinking of purchasing one.

Ok Im returning my 12 Max and got a mini. But I kinda want to swap my black mini to the blue. It’s so cool how you can easily one hand it. I was kinda disappointed in the 12 max camera and it’s more unwieldyn... so I don’t think it’s super impressive after I got used to it and not enough to justify paying $1300. Given I have an ipad pro and 16 in MacBook Pro I think it’ll be happy with this Mini as a way to minimize my phone ussge. I’ll try out the mini for a year because I think the 12 have flaws that I’d rather see them get better in the iPhone 13.

As a previous iPhone 6 Plus owner who was glad to get rid of it after 2 years (not only was it underpowered, it also had the bending issues which required extra care, and the screen estate was just too little for the device‘s size), I was a bit anxious about the 12 Pro Max, especially after having received the Leather Case beforehand, and the size comparison with my X.
I ordered the 12PM in hopes to be able to pass my 2nd iPad (2018 11‘‘ Pro) on to my wife.

Well, turns out that the 12PM is exactly “my“ phone.
Fits in my pocket, doesn’t feel much heavier than the X, and the screen size is great!
Also, the cameras are amazing, especially Night Mode.

Unfortunately, I will probably have to buy the most expensive top-line iPhone from now on :p

As always YMMV. My 12PM has alsmost made my iPad 11 pro obsolete. Combined with some half lockdown, working from home on a MBP 13” with a 27” 5K, I hardly ever reach for the iPad. I really hadn’t expected that.

I like the mini a lot as a form factor. But the inherent small screen and most all the punitive battery life puts me off.
I do wonder if the pro raw update will improve the pro’s cameras. But I won’t hold my breath.
Then again the improvement from a X (or earlier) to any 12 is huge especially in darker environments.

Not really. The number was bigger on the spec sheet, but they were different aspect ratios, so you can’t directly compare the diagonal screen size. The X screen was ever so slightly taller than the 7 Plus screen, but the 7 Plus screen was MUCH wider, and watching 16:9 videos on YouTube made it obvious that the X still had a much smaller screen. So to me, the 12 Pro Max feels a lot more like the 7 Plus because it has a screen with similar width, and I love the bigger screen and much better battery life.

I love it more and more each day it seems. Really doesn’t feel much bigger than my old XS Max. Fits in my pants and jeans nicely, though I do notice it, but oh well. I enjoy the screen and I have to try to kill the battery in one day. I’ve been switching between the Totallee clear case and the apple clear case.
No ragrets here

iPhone X to 12 pro Max. Much easier to pick up with square edges. Feels thinner in my pocket and I don't perceive any weight change. I notice the size difference when I use the beautiful screen and place it on a wireless charger on my desk, it takes up a little more room. Fits on my mount in my Jeep, no problems. As perfect as the X was for me, this phone is a smidge better at perfection.

Having had a big screen iPhone since 2014 the mini is a fresh take. Plus I’m home all the time anyways so charging isn’t an issue.

iPhone XS Max to 12 Pro Max and the size difference isn’t noticeable at all. I have the Apple silicone case and the phone is easier to balance in my hand and I think it’s because of the flat edged bezels, it’s just a better overall experience to handle overall and Apple should just keep it going forward.
