Otterbox iPhone 4 case fit on IPhone 4S scam

I just ordered a iPhone 4 defender case for the dirt cheap price of $16 on Amazon. Now Otterbox is stating that the 4s won't fit on the defender cases, there claiming that you need to purchase the defender iPhone 4s case and pay the premium $50 For compatibility... I'm claiming BS on this, and thinking Otterbox just wants us to pay more since they know the regular cases are dirt cheap right now... I bet you that the 4s iPhone will fit perfectly in a regular otterbox case with no problem..

Actually, to be fair, the new 4S cases from Otterbox have a larger camera opening..

Yeah, looks easier to clean. The camera covers are a pain to clean on the iPhone 4 case. My otterbox has some cracks so I'll probably do a case upgrade anyways.

I'm also wondering if the iPhone 4 Otterbox Defender case will fit the 4S. My mom has an extra one that she didn't like before she got the commuter case.

Otterbox says it shipping the 4S on 10/14.. so I doubt they got an advanced 4S(knowing Apples security control) so its obvious they just redesigned the current iphone 4 cases and just packed into a more profitable price tag.. Thats OK, but dont lie and tell me a 4S wont fit into a regular iphone 4 case
 
Also keep this in mind...

There were two versions of the Defender for the 4. The first was an AT&T only version. Then they released a universal version to allow for the different position of the Verizon vibrate switch. The new 4s version needs to have the universal button cutout as well since the position of the 4s's vibrate switch mirrors that of the Verizon version of the iPhone 4.

At this point I'd assume that any heavily discounted Defender cases are either fakes or the original AT&T only version.

Yeah. I have a Defender case that was bought from Verizon so that's good. I'm just worried about the camera and if it's bigger or not.

I'll use those codes to get a Commuter case if anything for now. I just wanted a case with a belt clip, so I'll have to find a belt clip that works for the Commuter.

I guess we'll all see next week!

If you are right you'll be famous. Otterbox are quite popular and a very durable brand. I have one for rock climbing, have dropped it and the glass iP4 was unaffected.

You can't beat that for protection.
