swivl-150x94.jpg

The Swivl is an iPhone dock that uses motion tracking to swivel the phone -- and thus the front-facing camera -- to follow your every move, both horizontally and vertically. It also comes with a wireless remote to control the camera and start-and-stop recording, useful for video-bloggers.

The Swivl can be used for a number of different tasks. Need a video of you skateboarding but have no cameraman? Or sick of holding the phone up to make FaceTime calls? The Swivl is for you:

Even better, the Swivl doesn't just work with the iPhone -- it works with any tripod mountable video camera.

The Swivl is available for pre-order for $159.99, and is set to launch early next year.

Is that a lawsuit I smell? Isn't this the exact same technology that shaycarl has been trying to promote for that one company for about a year?

Same people, they changed the name, but shaycarl is still involved ;)

Tired of badly cropped home pornos? This little gadget might be just what you need.

Too bad you have to have the little target remote dot thing visible or on you the whole time. Kinda cheesy too. Jerky etc.

Yeah. I wish there was a way for the device (through the dock connector) to actually sense what was in the frame, a la iPhoto's face detection. Or maybe an IR sensor could detect movement. But it seems silly to have a separate (ugly) gadget to wear. The company probably went that route because that made it easy for any mobile device to work with it.

That Galaxy troll is just upset that Adobe has killed off mobile flash so he is muttering inane sh** during this Fandroid grieving period. Poor, poor lost soul.
