not a PRO

13 in Retina Macbook Pro. Why hate when there aren't any full reviews yet?

Because there's no review which could have fixed the lack of dedicated GPU,
the inability to upgrade the RAM, and the mediocre (for this price) performance.
That's simply not a PRO machine!

And it's not in the least bit surprising. There was no reason to expect a dedicated GPU in a 13-inch MBP and everyone knew damn well the RAM wouldn't be user-upgradable. Why are people upset about things we've known would never be in a 13inch rMBP since before we even knew if there would ever be a 13inch rMBP?

The 13-inch MBP is simply Apple's most popular consumer laptop. They call it a Pro because that makes people buy it.

And while we're at it, I'm annoyed the iPad doesn't make popcorn.

That entirely depends on how you define 'pro'. Regardless of the machine specs, you still get something that is fairly unmatched in build quality & reliability. You could argue, even, that the 'pro' is earned by the price alone, given it puts it way outside the price braket of a normal punter.

For my work, as a professional developer, designer and writer, the MBP earns its name - it does everything I want it to do, in a form-factor that fits my working environments. To me it's a pro device.
