Exactly, so why are you basing everything on your own opinion, requirements and needs? Instead of doing that you should be basing it on facts like the ones I've brought forth. I use the MBP 13 w/o TouchBar, and LoL rarely drops down to 30fps. But my resolution is at 1440x900 I believe. It really doesn't show any difference to me. You tried to play a 3D game at 2K resolution with an Intel GPU. It's normal to be disappointed.

Edit: And maybe, it's about the CPU. Idk how LoL utulizes multicore CPU's but, 15 inch MBP has 4 cores. Then you'll say that it is bs to get this less performance on a new computer for higher price. I know. But, it's Apple.

You are basing it on data you don't even understand if you come up with that link. It's a list of all different kinds of GPUs, not only mobile ones. By your own definition the 1080 is not high end but somewhere between low end and mid end. Why? Because it is a mobile GPU, any desktop GPU will easily outrun it.

That's because most people do not understand what "high end" means. MH01 is a clear example of that. High end does NOT in any way mean "the fastest possible GPU". By your definition a mobile GPU cannot be high end due to the fact that desktop GPUs are way faster.

Again, unlike what you guys think, high end does not mean fastest. It means the top end of what a manufacturer offers. In this case both Nvidia and AMD GPUs are therefor high end GPUs. How they perform is an entirely different story and greatly depends on the software you are using.

You can go ahead and make up your own definitions for what is and isn't high end. It won't make your gaming on a MacBook any better.

Sort the result mate. 1080 is second, and desktop 1080 = mobile 1080

Look if it's high end for you awesome! Enjoy , my needs it's crap, hence I got a eGPU with a 980ti

OP, good for you returning the 13" MBP and LG 5K display. I'd like to see the performance of the 15" with the Radeon Pro 460 paired up to two 5K displays (as Apple marketing suggested the pros should have for their workstation).

  1. Wait for the mdworker threads to chill. That's Spotlight. It could take a couple days. I left mine on with power handling disabled for a full 24 hours after setup. Then, make sure the 5K monitor is not running at 5K. Run it at 1440x900 or something low. Then make sure the laptop is closed so you are not rendering both screens. Gaming should then be better. If you want to run the game at 5K or any high resolution above 1080p... no way. The intel GPU is just not made for that. If gaming is your primary reason for buying the laptop, return it and get a Razer laptop that handles the external GPU solution.
