I feel that people who make these kinds of quick decisions are having more of a buyer’s remorse than actually being dissatisfied with the product. They haven’t had the device for long enough to give it a fair shakedown.
“people like this” should go to the damn store first & try the new phones out before soaking up launch stock & putting up prices for people who *do know* what they want.

I should be used to it by now, but every year it’s the same bleating - pisses me off.

I see the exact opposite this 13 has been above par if not their best device to date for me.

I am a android user S21 5G and wow what a difference so much easier to use with better cameras.

You should of given it some time before you called it quits with the new phone.

It’s come and gone, ordered as the Apple Store came back online Fri 17, delivered day 1, returned day 2 😩

Background
Upgrading from an iPhone 6 for personal use (using the amazing iPhone 12 for work), I had high expectations for the iPhone 13 pro as my next personal phone.

Thoughts ..
1- it’s beautiful and fast (graphite for what it’s worth), usual Apple high end engineering we all love
2- it’s just too heavy for one hand usage, not that I can’t carry it but just very uncomfortable in one hand usage (iPhone 12 I have hits the sweet spot in this respect) - I did not expect c. 45g vs ip12 to make such a difference
3- the 13 pro screen was sub par and this may well have been my (bad ?) copy: generally low brightness which seems a very common issue, when matched to iPhone 12 brightness it has a grey cast which means white is not white and feels just wrong (tried all the auto brightness/True Tone/colour filters with no success) and fiddling with settings kind of defeats the purpose of a ‘pro’ phone, arguably positioned as a luxury item
4- using telephoto lens I get horrible artifacts from oversharpening (i checked exif and it’s using 3x f2.8 77mm lens and not digital zooming the wider angle lenses)
5- ProMotion is slick but really not a big deal imho, a gimmick 2 which makes scrolling nicer but that’s about it ..
6- back camera protrudes way too much for my liking having an iPhone 6 and 12 where the case is flush

What’s next ?
Might look for a second hand/refurbed iphone12 which feels like great value proposition given marginal upgrades from 12 to 13 (non pro versions)

Not asking for people to agree/disagree or convince me otherwise, I just can’t reconcile the value proposition from apple here. I very much wish it had gone smoothly, maybe first batch bad luck quality issues but then again at £1,049gbp you expect much better, including weight ergonomics.
Not asking for people to agree or disagree.. but posting on forum a change of mind purchase. Ok cool.

how do you ‘go to the damn store first’ and try a phone which isn’t even out when you want to have the new phone on launch day:rolleyes:

I bet almost everyone who preordered for launch day, regardless if they return it or not, thought that they do know what they want too. Until they have it in their hands, and either they love it or they find something about it that leads them to return it.

I love the phone in general but agree the 3x optical zoom lens is subpar. Worse than the 2x zoom on the 12 pro

Keep in mind anytime there’s an OS update it does a repaging of files and takes a couple days to finish. It uses the overhead cpu to do this plus the extra memory usage. Warms it up.

Do you feel it’s just a software issue? Are you saying there’s not much of reason to jump from my mini to the pro over it?
Hard to say but I do lots of photography. Just doesn’t seem naturally sharp. Maybe it’s the software. But it’s not a good first impression

I am on the fence. Went from a 12 mini to 13 pro and I need to adapt to the bigger phone. I hope I can get used to it in the next few days
Same here. There are things I really like about this. I was/am stoked about the cameras and having better battery life. I’m giving myself a full 7 days before I decide what to do.

Mine is on its way in the box again. It is just too clumsy and unhandy

I went with the 13 Pro from an XR that would be helped by a new battery (91%), but wasn't bad. The 13 is certainly faster and pro motion is cool. The cameras have definitely been great too. All that said, I don't know if I'm convinced. I probably just expect too much in how different it would feel, or maybe because the screen is the same size, that's a less obvious change. If I'd left the XR on 14 and got this one on 15, I might be singing a different tune.

The other side of this is, what is my other option? Sooner or later I'll want something different, but my XR will be worth even less. Also, I want better cameras now for the kids and just better photo/video capturing of life in general.

Your passion for angriness is concerning. Perhaps you should get it checked out. The poster was simply airing his opinion

For those complaining about this thread, you could always skip over this. But instead you are choosing to reply. This is a discussion forum and the OP posted their thoughts.

I moved from the 12 mini to the 13 Pro, after the first full day of use I’m definitely feeling soreness in my wrists. I’ll keep this for a few more days to see if it improves, if not I’ll have to switch to a 13 mini. The 120Hz is really nice though.

For me

No buyers remorse going from 4 to 5s
Buyers remorse going from 5s to 6s (felt like a soap bar, returned the 6s)
No buyers remorse going from 5s to SE 2016 (still using)
Buyers remorse going from SE 2016 to XR (returned XR)

I have not bought/tried a phone since then. I often go and play around with them in the store. Size wise the only acceptable ones are SE 2020 and the Minis. But PWM (or some other display issue) causes headaches for me even for light use in store. Which means SE 2020 is about the only option in the current line up and I would probably need to get a case for it, unlike my SE 2016 which I use naked.

Aside from the Mini in the current lineup, everything else feels too big AND heavy in my hand. That's why even though the display of the 13 Pro seems acceptable in the store, I cannot bring myself to pull the trigger. After seeing this thread from the OP and with several others chiming in, I think my hesitancy was more than justified.

Every year, same **** (people posting about their buyers remorse)

No buyers remorse so please don’t misrepresent my original post - end of the day it did not meet expectations. Return policies are available for exactly that, after all it’s only right to be able to return a product not meeting expectations. If it was buyers remorse that would be fine too by the way.

This is a forum, a place to share information and opinions, people may agree or disagree and that’s fine. A definition I quite agree with: a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

This post is just as justified as posts talking about great experience, feature requests, or any other issues.

I made the title explicit so that those not interested may be spared the read, trust that’s fine too, but misrepresenting is unnecessary and morally corrupt.

Another disgruntled user that came up from an lcd panel. Relatively common news I’m afraid.

I'm hoping to get the chance to see the 13P and 13PM in real life before ordering one but threads like this are actually really useful to me as I may not be able to get to a store so the experiences of others could be what helps me decide. My main reason for upgrading will be the camera (especially macro) so the smaller versions aren't going to work for me but it's entirely possible I'll end up hanging on to my XS for another year or two.

Went from the iPhone 12 Pro to the 13 Pro. In my opinion it is a significant upgrade. The screen is amazing (so much better than the 12) and the battery life is noticably better. I’m very happy with the upgrade.

I kind of laugh when people talk about the weight of these phones. They are all super light. I mean we are talking about 0.5 of an ounce compared to the 12 Pro LOL. I don’t get it, but to each their own.

Dude what you just described is buyer's remorse. And that's perfectly fine and that's what return policies are for.

Wow! Did you have to go all the way out to morally corrupt? I did not misinterpret your post - you pretty much said and i quote "I had high expectations for the iPhone 13 pro as my next personal phone...". Your purchase did not meet your expectations and you returned it. That is (an interpretation of) buyers remorse.

Dont malign me in the name of feeling better about yourself
