I'll start it off

Norwich UK - DiDa Mobile - Three UK MVNO

I was going to do something similar to this – but friggin TNT are only (in theory) delivering my new iPad tomorrow, so it'll have to wait. I've got two microsims ready, one from O2 and one from Vodafone (who apparently are the fastest). We'll see.

That sucks. Hope you get it today. T-Mobile and 3 are the only networks with practically full HSPA+ and 3 are rolling out dchspa which can go upto 42 mb/s

Getting a mediocre 5mbit/3mbit on Three here in Edinburgh (Leith docks). Hope to see some improvement when I have it at work in the city centre on Monday.

(Btw, why does typing on the new iPad seem so delicious? I think the typing 'lag' on iPad 1 was worse than I thought - this typed on newPad)

London here on O2.

New iPad 3G is 82ping, just under 5 Mbps down, 1 up.

This is four times faster download than my iPad2 with the same SIM/network.

I have to ask. Why did you pick O2 as your carrier if you don't get any 3G on it? O2 is probably the worst carrier to pick for an iPad.

To be honest I don't know, it's usually fine when I stay away for a weekend somewhere, just here at home I don't get 3G, but I have Wifi :)

I might look into getting a new sim at some point then, a friend who live down the road gets 3G with his T-Mobile phone, so there is some hope ;)

No 3G in my part of Lincolnshire, nearest is about 30mins each way. **Sob Sob**

Out of curiosity, what part of Lincolnshire do you live in? I'm in Boston and regularly get 6mb/s down on Vodafone on my iPhone - I've yet to check on my iPad as I need to get another micro sim. I've seen similar speeds in the other towns in the county.

Does anyone have an idea what the coverage is for HSPDA+ in the uk? - I wonder if this would show up as 4G on the iPad as it does in the US.

HSPA+ still come up as 3G as you can see from my screenshot on Three. I'm getting over 7mb/s so must be on HSPA+.

First local person I've 'met' on here! I'm just outside of Spilsby so really not far from Boston (go to ASDA almost every week). I sometimes get 3G in Skegness but only around McDonalds usually.. Lincoln has good 3G though :)

Didn't realise that anything above 7mb/s was classed as HSPDA+:p

It's a bit weird that these speeds show up as 4G on US iOS devices, but not on UK ones. I know it really makes no difference, but it would've been cool to see that we get '4G' over here.

Same here:), it's nice to know you're not alone:D

Well normal HSPDA can't go above 7.2 theoretically and 7 in practice. So the mast has to be enabled with 14.4mb/s or 21mb/s HSPA+ for anything above it. Its just AT&T in the USA as call HSPA+ 4G as a marketing technique.

How do these speeds compare to the iPad 2 are they any better? This is my first iPad 3G and the speedos better than my 4s so just curious

The iPad 2 could only supported HSPDA ( upto 7.2mb/s) this one supports DC-HSPA+ (upto 42mb/s)

I was pretty blown away by this result this morning - I'm now worried 3network has installed a tower underneath my bed

WOW. That is pretty amazing.

why are you trying and bench march a device which is ultimately limited by bandwidth and latency etc?

Pointless.
