O2 is going to do 42mb HSPA - anyone tested it out yet on their new iPad?

If so does it deliver? :)

I don't know where its active yet but very keen to find out. I was under the impression that on the whole Three has some of the best speeds in the UK for data but if O2 are pushing 42mb, then maybe Three's not way ahead anymore.

The thing with O2 as a iPad data provider is they've tiny 1GB cap. Currently I have 2 year contract with Three. :p Sold iPad 2 before the new one came out guess I'm stuck with the best haha.

I remember reading online that O2 were testing (select invitees only) the 42mb speeds around the O2 Arena area in London.

Slow 3 fast O2

Hi, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong here.

I have an iPhone 4 (no S) on O2 (Contract)
Down 5 Mbps
Up 1.5 Mbps

I have an iPad 3 on a 3 month prepay Micro Sim
Average
Down 1.0
Up 0.6

Max
1.6 up
0.8 down.
At 17:30, Earls Court area.

Is there something to change in the settings, or the APN?

Thanks

Third gen iPad on the Three UK network... Download speed of 15.55Mbps! - and that's only on 4 out of 5 bars.

Big difference compared to O2. Was given an O2 sim in the Apple Store. I had download speeds of around 3-4Mbps. Didn't like fully downloading images either - any website I went on, it all looked pixelated. Seems like that on O2 though because I once had a broadband dongle on O2. Never downloaded images to their full quality either.

Any good experiences of what Three is pulling down in London (central & west)?

A mate has trailed them on his iPhone4 and the speeds were pretty dire.

EE (Orange) with only 3 bars. iPad 3. My iPhone 5 (EE) gets a faster speed but it seems to have a better signal.

3 seems to suffer quite a lot of congestion in certain areas. Have you tried doing a speed test at say midnight?
