Very frustrating indeed. Let’s hope this fix comes soon. I always hesitate when a new update comes along. It‘s not always better.

I’ve heard from several others that the current beta has fixed this. It is very annoying, on one web site I couldn’t enter text correctly and the space bar didn’t work properly. I had to switch back and forth from the onscreen keyboard to the Magic Keyboard.

I also have ha this issue for several months know, using 2019 12.9 IP-Pro and Smart Keyboard. It’s really annoying, as i then default to either using my iMac or iPhone to delete multiple junk emails.

In the past [prior to 14.2] a work-around was to type text in the search and then delete using the delete key. After this i could highlight multiple emails anew then delete. Using 2finger gestures is no where near as quick as using the keyboard.

I’m glad ios14.3 fixes this, but i think apple needs to send out a fix asap

When a message is highlighted in the message list in Mail hitting the delete key on the Smart Keyboard Folio does nothing. This is happening on my 12.9 3rd gen iPad Pro. Deleting text still functions but you cannot delete a message.
An easy fix is to park the cursor on the trash can and then use the track pad as your button.

This also affects the Magic Keyboard, wonder if any 3rd party keyboards are also affected.
I’m using a 3rd party keyboard case, which have a bluetooth hardware keyboard, and confirmed it doesn’t work too. I found it odd that it suddenly stopped working until i stumbled upon this, so it looks like it is not specific to my keyboard. Hopefully we can get a fix soon.
