So, the invites have just been released.

The 12 which represents what day it'll be on clearly resembles a 5 in its' shadow.

Now this could mean one of two things.

Either the iPhone 5, or the possibility that they will release 5 new products.

So?

New iPhone
New iPod Touch
New iPad Mini?
New iPod Nano?
New iPod Shuffle?

What're your thoughts? & What do you think could be the possible 5 products?

i think people are really stretching their imagination. It obviously means iphone5. Since 90% of the public would consider it the 5....only people who are on forums call it the 6

If you really look at the invitation the shadow of the 5, looks like iP. The gap between the 1_2. It clearly looks like the 5 is suppose to represent ( iP). Just a thought.

Don't make the same mistake last year where people made some really irrational guesses on what the invitation really meant. The invitation is meant to be simple, which means the iPhone 5.

Sep 12 event
-iPod shuffle
-iPod nano
-iPod touch
-iPhone 5

Oct event

It would be really funny if they don't name it iPhone 5 and it's really for the quantity of products launched.

not a device. so couldn't be a "5" for that.

its the iphone 5. obviously.

Although I think the 5 is alluding to the iPhone 5, he might be referring to the five main topics of the event or things that Apple will announce.

E.g. Tim Cook: "We are going to talk about five things today."

I think Apple saw the mess they made with the New Ipad, so they're probably gonna stick with iPhone 5 for this next iPhone. While it would make sense to us techies to name it iPhone 6, most consumers would wonder what the heck happened to the iPhone 5.
But they could be messing with everybody...

Analyzing the invitation for over five hours, Fred realizes he's found the clue... the texture of the paper is less coarse than last year.

A mind numbing discovering so exciting & revolutionary he's taking oxygen at the moment.

iPads don't need to be numbered as much as the iPhones. They can always sell the "new iPad" and the "iPad ([previous] generation)". Same goes with the iPad Mini that Apple will presumable announce in October. On the other hand, Apple sells three generations of iPhones at the same time, so numbering them makes more sense. It's less messy and the customers are not confused.

I think that it means that they're releasing the iPhone on the 5th (tomorrow) instead of the 12th, and the invitation is a subterfuge. The event on the 12th is just for cake and punch. :D

I cannot see them calling it the "iPhone 5". Absoultely ridiculous, as the 5th gen iphone was the 4S. The iphone 4 made sense as that was the 4th generation iphone.

Apple is very simple, so they should stick to "New iPhone".
