Hi all, come here for a spoiler-free experience of the September 12th, 2012 iPhone Event! This post will contain the official live keynote stream (when one is available). Please don't post any rumors/speculation. Until then, feel free to pass the time here.

Keynote Checker (Courtesy of Voidness): http://insightview.com/keynotechecker/

Rules
- Do not mention any current rumors/new rumors
- Do not talk about Fight Club
- Do not mention Apple's stock price
- Do assume everyone in this thread has heard nothing about iPhone Event
- Use common sense when posting
- Do not say what was not in the Keynote (ex. "They didn't update the AppleTVs!!")
- Be Patient! ;)

Purpose of This Thread
The purpose is that people can bookmark this thread, and check in periodically to see if a link to the Keynote is posted (instead of being spoiled by seeing pictures on the MacRumors' homepage :p). It's like we've all seen trailers for a movie (like the part leaks), but we want to watch the movie (the Keynote) without knowing the ending. ;)

Also if someone does post spoilers please report them via the button located on the left of each post. Please do not quote the offending post.

Anyone interested in being "Spoiler-Free"?

Since the rumor is preorders will start right after the event, like the iPad 3, not this time.

Seriously? You posted this 4 days before the event. Not to mention, you explicitly state you don't want any banter about rumors, so what would you have people talk about in this thread 2 days before the event??? What they want in the next iPhone? Um...look around...there are HUNDREDS of threads like that.

This reeks of someone who's upset because their "Apple Christmas" has been ruined by all the leaks. Let it go. Sit back, relax, watch the event and enjoy the new iPhone. No need to put the blinders on and act like there's anyone left here who hasn't heard all the rumors.

Or they could go to one of the many tech blog live blogs/potential streams and read/watch it live there.

What are you talking about? I've started threads like this for every media for the past 3 years on this site:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1335125/
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1163940/
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/928029/

Get over yourself. It's just a simple thread to have fun before the Keynote. Stop acting like a tool.

I do apologize. I posted that before I'd had my first cup of coffee and was feeling like an a$$hole (which, coincidentally, is what I came off as).

Carry on.

Since i will be at work and not able to stream any of the event, what time do you think the link for the event will be posted.

In the past couple of events, it's been about 3 to 4 hours after the end of the event. So, the event starts at 1PM EST (10AM locally), we should have a link to the stream by 6PM EST.

Hopefully, we'll get our great forum member Voidness to help out. In the past, he has provided a link to his Keynote Checker (it's this cool site he runs that displays the Keynote's streams immediately as Apple posts them - sometimes before they are displayed publicly).

This is a great idea! Provided no one posts silly things then I will check back here to see when the video is uploaded to their website! :)

I do not think I can make it... Especially since I will be at work... and Time will drag.... drag soo much that I won't be able to take it... Especially considering I am already tired of waiting.

Every year I usually follow the live updates, then watch the keynote later that day anyway.

I will be here to try and hold out until the video stream is available

Last year, I followed along the liveblogs as I knew the update wouldn't be huge (I didn't believe this tear-drop redesign rumor; it was obvious a "4S" was coming). This year, I stopped following rumors once the official Apple invites went out.

You should definitely try to hold out til the Keynote! If you're planning to watch it anyways, you should be "spoiler-free" as it will make it more enjoyable :p

But yes, with my work being slow these past couple days, it will be hard not to check the updates...

I will try... I will be in this thread when it starts, but there is a good chance I will end up saying that "I caved and looked at the live stream". However, I will not be ruining anything for anyone, so no worries there.

If I manage to hold out, their is two things I do not want to be spoiler free... When the Pre-Orders Start Time and Release Date. I do not remember how quickly the pre-orders have started in the past.

When the 4S was announced, I was in Turkey on holiday.
So was easy to just go and watch the keynote...

I did the spoiler free thing for the RMBP update, was pretty cool.
Although in the end I clicked on the Apple website and saw something out the corner of my eye that I didn't want to see.

Better than looking at Blog sites though, would suck majorly though if pre-orders are announced immediately after the keynote...

I'm not really sure what this thread is for...

If you don't want to know any info until you've watched/downloaded the keynote speech then what is there to talk about in this thread?

Or have I got this wrong?

Look at other spoiler-free threads. Basically, it's a good place to be notified in real-time when the keynote is available & not worried about seeing a giant picture/banner for products.

For now, there is not much to talk about it. But it should pick up on the 12th...

Bookmark this thread and return straight to it on the 12th to find out where you can watch a video of the keynote.

You won't have to click through the home page or numerous thread on the forum which are certain to be talking (spoiling) all the new announcements.

There's nothing to talk about here now, but it's good to know it'll be a safe place to return to in a few days.

I for one always appreciate these threads and use them every keynote!

For people that dont "get" it, the point of these is to bookmark them before the event and then after the live announcement you just go straight to them and then you're able to watch the keynote unspoiled without having to go to the main page and seeing the news. It's like a safe bunker from the apocalypse.

Where I live, the keynote is 3am so I just wake up around 7am and refresh these threads until the keynote is live and avoid the rest of the internet in the meantime. Then once I've watched the keynote, go to the Apple website and look at the porn shots and full specs.

Then go onto the forums and read all the reactions and salty Fandroid tears
