How to install
It's not terribly clear how to install this app, but let me try to explain.
You have to install a BSD Subsystem app and Community Services apps, first. Then, installing other programs will work. This has literally taken away all of my iphone frustrations that have ticked me off.
The functionality I got this week:
1. icon showing sms or mail status from phone in locked position in the menu bar.
2. custom ringtones and song ringtones (sendsong)
3. Tetris (aka Tetromino)
4. Email files (sendfile)
5. Finder
6. iStumbler (shows surrounding wifi networks) (aka Stumbler)
7. INTERNET RADIO - yep, the same stations as in iTunes (yummy, Groove Salad)
8. a search program for contacts/dates (like spotlight)
9. etch-e-sketch program
10. Well designed themes (summerboard)
11. CHANGED LAME "NEW MAIL" Sound (I'm using the mario "power up" sound)
12. Voice notes
13. Cell-Tower based GPS (Navizon, only works when wifi is off)
14. Apollo IM for MSN and AOL
End result is, I don't know what apple can give me now. I have all I want on my phone (besides a decent push email and more storage).
It's really worth it if nothing else for the themes, mail notifications and Apollo Instant Messengers. I can imagine that ATT and Steve are pretty ticked since this cuts into ringtone income and SMS income that have been so easily incorporated into the current phone software. The reality is, this should have been in the phone in the first place. These guys are doing great work.
You can still sync with iTunes, but don't upgrade your software until you find out how to guarantee it won't brick your phone. Really though - there's not much else they can provide software wise.
