I remember when I got the iPhone 4, I went out to bars/clubs with my friends in San Francisco and I got a lot of head turns whenever I took out my iPhone

I love having the latest in technology first and other people noticing it and being jelly. I remember when I brought the original iPad to school before anyone else really had it and I couldn't be left alone for a minute without people coming over and wanting to touch it.

No, because I use my phone for my own personal uses and enjoyment, not as a status symbol.

Show it off..

And we'll wait for your new thread; "Someone sole my iPhone from out of my hand, what do I do?"

Sounds like a friday night at the bar for me too.

Yes normally I drive to work but on this special occasion i'm going to take the bus and proceed to be obnoxious and show off the new hardware.

Good luck with that. SF is notorious for having phones stolen at bars. But in the end its just a phone and its not like it shoots rainbows from its headphone port.

Well I will be using it on the train commuting to and from work as i use my iPhone 4. I'm sure people will look.

Yeah SF is pretty much notorious for theft in general. I actually had my wallet pickpocketed from someone at a bar when I was dancing and having fun. In fact one of the bars I frequent actually has a sign posted outside that warns about this. Kinda sad

To be honest, iPhones aren't special anymore. What was special was when I was in the 6th grade with the first gen iPhone! Back when it was $600.. That was a big deal, that was the age when the sliver and razr was cool.

I can tell you why you are getting head turns if you went out to show off your phone
"you believe this guy? Who cares"
"what a dork"
"it is just a phone"

The hypocrisy that exists in AppleLand makes me laugh.

One minute people are being bashed for talking about design, the next, people are so vain, they want to show it off.

Good luck this year. The average person won't be able to tell the difference at any distance.

Apple Cool is only in the minds of the self conscious.

I would...if I were a complete douchebag who felt the need to feel relevant and important because the phone I own.
