Sorry but does macrumors take any **** and releases it as "rumor"? Any Idiot could print something like that and take a photo + his mark the photo with his home page url. WTF!?

Both 7200 RPM drives I've had as Apple BTOs were dead silent, and had not a single tiny iota of vibration.

500GB and 750GB HDDs. That's a new move by Apple. They are usually a couple of years behind the rest of the market in HDDs. Let's hope they offer a 500GB 7200 RPM and 1TB 5200 RPM BTO.

Example, my 13 inch 2009 MBP had the same 160GB Fujitsu hard drive I bought in my 2007 MBP, and I had one in a very cheap Fujitsu computer that was bought in early 2006.

Apple puts out dated hard drives that you could be found in sub £400 notebooks that are a year or so old. Not good when you have a machine worth £1.5k and the major bottle neck is the HDD. Always been my main criticism with Apple along with having little RAM on default models.

lol ur on macRUMORS maybe u should check ur url again ....

and those r legit

wow

wow they give us quad, amd 1GB(!), more frotsidebus and thunderbolt... imo thats a massive upgrade! biggest i can remember... combined with ssd this should be an amazing performance gain. never thought we'd get so much!
if this all is true i'm very happy... shops are down for how long average? .... i'm refreshing every minute :D

The Ati 6490M in the 15" is super slow. Its actually slower than the current 330M. Why do they do this?
Especially regarding the fact that the HD 3000 integrated into the CPU of the same computer is almost equally fast. What a rip-off

Wow, so Quad-core? I'm freaking out right now. I was just thinking that I was going to have to wait until late 2011/early 2012 for the quad-core models to come out. I can't believe how crazy fast these are going to be! Leapfrogged my expectations!! I can't believe Apple is pushing top-of-the-line processors right after release. They must mean business now!

I really really want to pull the trigger on this one now. Especially since I've been up all night long dealing with a slow-as-balls CS5 on my 3 year old MBP trying to finish my school projects. But quad-core? Oh hells yes. HELLS YES!

But I think I might wait. I really want to get in on the free iPod Touch 4 with Mac purchase this summer. It's for my wife, who is using my original iPhone 1 as an iPod Touch and it runs so slow.

How easy are these unibodies to open compared to the old-style MBP? I will need to install more RAM and an SSD from OWC. Also the optical drive kit if Apple doesn't provide a solution. I want 128gb SSD for OS and apps and 1Tb HDD for file storage.

Wonder what the battery will be like on these quad-core machines?

My mind is racing right now, sorry but I'm having a nerd-gasm!!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148a Safari/6533.18.5)

Quad core and 1GB graphics?!! I can BTO the ram upgrade and ssd. This feels like Christmas morning!!!

However.... Still rolling out 256MB graphics (of any kind) on a high priced mbp? seriously apple? thats ridiculous...its 2011... you've been using that ***** for the past 5 years

looks like the 256mb is only on the cheaper 15. which is fair enough, people wanting the larger screen but not the power.

no QUAD on the 13.3" :(
no 4G/LTE option :(
backlit keyboard :)
resolution on 13.3" :/ don't really care.

It's Apple. The higher res will be BTO meaning that you can only buy it from them.

There is the problem, you have to pay more to not have a screen with an ancient PPI spec. Many apps are bitmap based, and therefore a screen like that makes the UI pretty bad since all the buttons are -- X -- pixels.

Well, I'm going to bed. When I wake up, I'll likely be starting a new thread.

"Help! I just nerd-gasmed over my MBP! What should I do???"

P.S. Quad CPU + 6750M + SSD = WIN.
QED.

Quad core... The gap between laptops and desktops is closing.

These chips are seriously the BOMB! the 17" has the 2720QM which will blow almost any other Apple CPU out of the water!!!

Apple has one of the fastest laptops in the world!

NICE that I can have bragging rights over my windows friends for once.

Check out my predictions on https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1101568/

Was slightly wrong with GPUs and may now be proven wrong as Apple have finally decided to be FAST with QUAD CORE CPUs.

I've got some MBA predictions come the upgrade to Sandy Bridge too. There should be a link on that thread before the end of the day.

Article Link: 15/17-Inch MacBook Pro Specs: AMD GPU, Quad Core i7

As long as the 15" Pro is able to have the 750GB hard drive option, and as long as the AMD GPUs aren't hot like the ATI Mobility X1600s were and are better in terms of performance than the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330Ms are, this may shape up to be a pretty awesome refresh as far as the 15" and 17" MacBook Pros go. I can't say the same about the 13", but we knew that was coming.

Damn quad core.... put my dual core i7 to shame :(

However.... Still rolling out 256MB graphics (of any kind) on a high priced mbp? seriously apple? thats ridiculous...its 2011... you've been using that ***** for the past 5 years

No different than what they've been doing (for better or worse) on the lower ends for years. Not "apologizing" for them; just stating it as fact. That's why I made sure to get the 512 on my last purchase.

What makes you so sure it'll be included in the next refresh that's possibly up to a year away?!

Not sure what you mean but maybe Apple will put in a slightly more powerful GPU for the next refresh. A 256MB 6490 is pretty weak.
