You know what I mean. If you want a big battery, it will come in a thicker and heavier laptop.I know . What do you mean by that?

Well not necessarily, since as you can see from the internals, they could have fit a larger battery, but refrained from doing so, probably to keep it "super light"You know what I mean. If you want a big battery, it will come in a thicker and heavier laptop.
It should be noted the speakers in the 14"/16" MBPs have audio coming from air intakes both sides of the bottom, the top perforated hole areas left and right of keyboard. It's like comparing a sealed speaker vs a ported speaker with how different the bass output is between a new 15" MBA and smaller 14" MBP in this Max Tech video. The 16" MBP uses even larger speakers and is more fuller sounding/immersive when it comes to spatial audio effects. I am sure someone can compare all three. This might be the definitive guide to the MBA 15"
The EU should just make apple a utility and design all their products and set their prices😂What I want the EU to do is either ban soldered SSDs and RAM to reduce e waste or demand that the manufacturer can't price memory/storage upgrades over 100% market rate instead of charging 800% going rate like Apple's current cost to go from 256gb to 1TB.
Plenty big for those of us who rely on the cloud for storage and streaming. The ssd at 256GB is just sad for two reasons, 256GB in 2023 is crazy small.
It already has a larger battery compared to the 13", but I don't see how they could have used an even larger battery without making it thicker and therefore heavier. People choose the Airs because they are thinner and lighter than the Pros.Well not necessarily, since as you can see from the internals, they could have fit a larger battery, but refrained from doing so, probably to keep it "super light"
But yeah if you want the best battery, gotta go for the big thick heavy monster indeed
Did you look at the internals? especially on the sides. they put metal stuff on the sides to fill , could have fit more battery thereI don't see how they could have used an even larger battery without making it thicker
Yeah, the teardowns say those are there to strengthen and reduce flex.Did you look at the internals? especially on the sides. they put metal stuff on the sides to fill , could have fit more battery there
that's what I meant, look again
My 16" Intel has amazing sound quality for a laptop. I remember being blown away by how good the thing sounded (though I use the internal speakers rarely). I'd like to see a comparison as well.It should be noted the speakers in the 14"/16" MBPs have audio coming from air intakes both sides of the bottom, the top perforated hole areas left and right of keyboard. Wouldn’t that cut into Apple’s margin and result in the price having to be increased (maybe to 1349?).What they are saying is that the 256GB component costs Apple very little so the $1299 base model should have come with 8/512.
Porn and Lord of the rings fans.Battery life is literally a pissing contest.
As someone who has done sound design, video editing, song writing, software development, data analytics and more with a laptop on planes, trains and automobiles throughout east Asia for a good chunk of my life, I'd like to know who needs more than eight (continuous) hours of battery life.
Would agree that 8 hours is pretty much universal requirement. Longer than that is a bonus. My MBA m2 holds charge so well that I charge it maybe 2 times a week (with everyday use).Porn and Lord of the rings fans.
don't agree at all. I'm a writer and the new 15" Air is perfect for me -- light, thin, great screen, fast, a joy to use.14" Pro beats it hands down! even if you're not a pro
13" Air is a fantastic laptop. Be happy with what you have.i just got the 13 inch mba in January I shoulda waited lol

I’ve come to the realization that the Pros and Airs are just 2 very different machines for very different people. An Air is not a ”lesser” Pro, but just a different machine.don't agree at all. I'm a writer and the new 15" Air is perfect for me -- light, thin, great screen, fast, a joy to use.
This video makes me laugh. Many years ago, around 2006, I was a full-time video editor using a Mac Pro and Final Cut Pro. I was editing short standard definition videos for distribution online. Exporting a 5 minute video would be a 15 minute to 1 hour process that I would always do at the end of the day. Reviewers like these are exporting 5 minute 4K videos in just over 2 minutes on a fanless laptop. Here I was worried about my 15 inch Air being able to handle video. LOL!This might be the definitive guide to the MBA 15"

I hope they don’t. Do you really want bureaucrats that likely know nothing of technology legislating how sophisticated devices are built? Governments aren’t up to that, and shouldn’t try.Scandal! I hope that the EU will release a law that bigger batteries have to be installed even if there is enough space 😉
I know two people who just bought Apple notebooks with 256 GB storage. In both cases, they will never need more. The ssd at 256GB is just sad for two reasons, 256GB in 2023 is crazy small. Apple overcharging the upgrade on memory and storage is also sad. Come on Apple Steve would not be impressed I can think of multiple quotes of his.
I do. I use my 13” M2 MacBook Air for software development at a client’s office. I’m usually on the computer for 90% of the day. Yesterday I did a 10 hour day. I had about 15% battery remaining at the end. Of course I could bring a charger but I’m happy that I don’t need to or even have to think about it.I'd like to know who needs more than eight (continuous) hours of battery life.
