MacBookAir Pro? 😜What about the 13" MBP? No ProMotion, extra ports or Pro/Max processor...

Regardless if it can be configured with M2 Pro or not, what if, as article mentioned, this will be marketed and sold under just Macbook name, no Air, no Pro?It will be interesting to see if this 15” Air can also be configured with an M2 Pro. Might be the perfect setup for people who want a bigger screen and a little more power but don’t need the full MacBook Pro. Even if apple limits it to the binned version
Yeah, it would be nice to have bigger screen and SD card reader for those of us who want bigger screena but dont neither need nor want to pay for 16" MBP.No SDXC card slot. No buy
Colors aside, I hope that it will come with more ports or at least those that it currently has(assuming that its going to be Air and not just Macbook) would be re-shuffled for more ergonomic use of machine.
An M2 Pro on a thin fanless MacBook would be wasted because it would heat throttle. It will be interesting to see if this 15” Air can also be configured with an M2 Pro. Might be the perfect setup for people who want a bigger screen and a little more power but don’t need the full MacBook Pro. Even if apple limits it to the binned version
I wouldnt mind it launching with M3 due to lower heat and longer battery life. Do I NEED it? No.What do you NEED the M3 chip for, that the M2 doesn't do?
You don't even know the performance stats of M3.
NEED is a strong word
I wonder if its "just" Macbook, how much heavier will it be if compared to theoretical 15" Air machine that "could have been" and how much less than current MBP 16?The only way theyre going to launch M2 in this 15” MacBook Air is if it doesn’t get the Air branding and is just called MacBook.
No, not a Studio, god forbid! That will automatically add higher starting specs or much higher starting price! Was hoping this would end up being a different model that stood between the Air with a single fan and M2/M2 Pro options.
Still gonna be a great computer. Just wish it was a MacBook or MacBook Studio, not an Air.
Right? I mean, 15-plus inches but with paltry 256GB of storage, for the price(I expect this to start at some 1699-1799 euros) its just so 2000s and so Apple.I wonder about the price. Im guessing the base model will be 1699 to 1799. M2 8 Ram 256 GB configuration

Yes black white siilver are boring. If that blue is real and the price is right, I will be strongly considering it.As a "loyal follower" of your posts 😅, I must say that the color selection has been the biggest thing on your most-wanted feature list for Apple's laptop line...
We did get those "Starlight" and "Midnight" colors with the latest MacBook Air, but I think you are aiming for more fun colors like the 24-inch M1 iMacs, right.
Yea they need the largest screen to not be locked behind insane specs and pricing…why not just give us a size of MBP with MBA specs and call it a day. Oh wait, we want our customer to have a minimum of 2 Macbook’s per head. Good business and effective as my 16 MBP is too heavy to carry and i need MBA for moving around
This exactly. All I need is M2 (or future equivalent chip). I also need a fan (live streaming can stutter on M2 Air when you’re doing a lot due to thermals). I also want largest screen. Currently 16.2” is locked behind overkill specs. In todays mobile world, many would take the largest screen available without the specs.Yea they need the largest screen to not be locked behind insane specs and pricing
Perhaps this is a dumb question – or an unanswerable one at this time...It will be interesting to see if this 15” Air can also be configured with an M2 Pro. Agreed and I too have the iPhone 13 mini which I guess I'll keep until it falls apart.I want the 11" Air. But I'm a weirdo who has a iPhone 13 Mini![]()
I disagree with James; it doesn't make sense to call it MacBook if it is just a larger 13" Air, and if it's not then how would Apple differentiate it from the Pros? The iPad line could stand to have fewer unique models so it would be a shame if the MacBooks went there. I think Apple wants to keep Promotion and Mini-LED as MBP features. Based on the weight differences between the 14" and 16" MBP, the 15" Air will probably be around the same weight as the 14" MBP.I wonder if its "just" Macbook, how much heavier will it be if compared to theoretical 15" Air machine that "could have been" and how much less than current MBP 16?
It will probably add the same cost to the equivalent 13" Air as the 16" MBP does to the 14".Right? I mean, 15-plus inches but with paltry 256GB of storage, for the price(I expect this to start at some 1699-1799 euros) it's just so 2000s and so Apple.
I dont expect them to make this one base with 16/512 combo, not even 12/512GB, but make it at least 8/512GB and dont charge users 230 euros for that "free storage" ForFilesystemsSake 😃!
This makes sense.
Everyone wants an Air with a bigger screen, so they are giving us a “current” air with a bigger screen.
Nothing to see here.
Yep. We'll have small and large Airs just like we have small and large Pros.Bingo! Did anyone assume they'd put something else in it? I just assumed it would be an "Air" with an optional larger screen for those that wanted it.
comments like this really confuse me.
Why does it come even close to replacing a MacBook pro except it has a similar screen size.
There seems to be a lot of people who don't understand the difference in the chips !
