1st Problem - Wallpaper reverts to original on restart

Cant change desktop backround on mbpr 15", can change it but when i re start it it goes back to the original. Any ideas?

I haven't read them all, but you may find some useful information in one of the several threads that have been posted on this problem, such as these:

wallpaper changes to default after restart

You could try deleting the desktop plist:

Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist

and then restart.

Your Library folders are hidden by default in Lion and ML. To get to your /Library or /Users/yourusername/Library (also known as the ~/Library) folders in Lion and ML:

• Launch Finder and click Go > Go to Folder and type: /Library or ~/Library
  
• Hold the Option key while clicking the Go menu item, which reveals your ~/Library folder in the menu.
  
• Make it permanently visible in Finder by entering the following command in Terminal, then press the Enter key:
  
  chflags nohidden ~/Library​
• 18 ways to view the ~/Library folder in Lion

Thanks had read a few now all and nothing. Is this happening to everyone or just the unlucky? Doesnt do it on my iMac.

Thanks your a genius, spent a hour reading posts and i got that i need to delete the com.apple.desktop.plist. But couldn't find it. I will save that link and read it later when i recover lol.

Have you followed GGCStudio's instructions? It will more than likely fix your problem.

1. Open Terminal app
2. Copy and paste this:

cd ~/Library/Preferences
sudo rm com.apple.desktop.plist

3. Type in your account password when it asks for password
4. Restart your Mac
5. Set your wallpaper

Edit: Ah, you've just fixed it.

This happened to me after I updated from lion to ML. The only thing that fixed it for me was a clean ML install. I have the rmbp.

I have this issue also on my personal MBP (my work-issued MBP doesn't do this). Frankly, I don't reboot often so it doesn't bug me THAT much.

10.8.3 has a habit of causing this issue - no idea why :s
