With just a brief sampling from a limited poll, one can see where 16 GB at least for the top shelf iPhone 5s type product may be finding the way of the DoDo...

A 128 GB iPhone may be whats on order in the very near future. :)

Statistics 101: Consider whether your sample is representative. I suspect that the posters here are more likely to be iPhone power users, requiring more storage than the average user. And even so less than half opt for the highest capacity model.

I consider myself a power user - lots of apps, physical music (I hate relying on the network), and downloaded versions of maps and wikipedia. That being said, I think 32gb is manageable. However, once you go to the 64gb, it's very hard to go back. I like having the breathing room for taking tons of photos and videos without worrying about it.

The 16gb is almost impossible - I think if I had to use a 16gb I would have to setup flickr to upload photos into the cloud instead and perhaps pay for spotify or itunes match.

32GB Space Gray :D
My first iPhone, the 3GS, I had gotten the 16GB. Back then there wasn't so much stuff to do on the iPhone as there is now. My music collection and tastes have grown so a big chunk of my 5s is loaded with music. I don't think I'd ever fork over the money for a 64GB though, let alone a 128GB if given the option. Now that I've been using cloud services, a lot of room has opened up on my iPhone so that extra space to me is kind of unnecessary.

From a 16gb 4s to a 64gb 5s space grey. Best decision that I have made on any phone purchase to date !. I love the breathing room with the extra gb.
I can just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride......

64gb anything less and i would run out of space fairly quick, would've prefered a 128gb model.

Wow ... Nice ! ... I must say I'm extremely surprised best buy would do such thing... Congrats

Well gracias!! lol..

Ya I was really surprised too! The guy said that since the system was down, they couldn't check the reservations to see whose was whose. The manager had made the decision to just sell wat they had to anyone that came in. Even with my luckiness, (and I'm not complaining) I still believe that the manager's choice is bad business practice. But hey, they admitted it was their fault! They gave me a $225 gift card and then rang me up. I was definitely surprised they were willing to eat that much money! :D

LOL, joeblow you're preaching to the choir!

Originally when with a 32GB Space Gray 5s and just exchanged for a 64GB Silver model yesterday. Figured that since I was changing colors may as well go with the extra space, never hurts to have more room them less room.

I ordered the 64 GB iPhone 5s in Space Gray, what GB size did you order your iPhone in?

I actually canceled the 64GB order and re-ordered in a 16 GB, and it shipped tomorrow:

I guess it's tomorrow somewhere! :)

This is a simple one...if you need the storage and your got the funds,,,,More is always better! Anyone saying otherwise is just not being truthful.

I refuse to be a sucker to Apple and have returned a 32gb for a 16gb. My 4s is 16gb and have only hit max once and that was because of being lazy and not dumping my photos. Rather than giving us a 32gb as the basic model for the price of a 16gb they stick with 16gb knowing that most will have to upgrade to 32gb these days so extra $$ for Apple thank you $$!!

Unless you want to keep all your music or photos on your phone then there is no point in paying the extra. If you have the money to burn and happy to give Apple more cash then fine but the whole marketing strategy is disgusting and they only do it because we are happy to pay it! Can you blame them? We are our own worst enemies!

I simply dump the photos bofore I max out and just load apps I use. Anything else can be downloaded or deleted until needed etc.

I also dont have enough time in the day to listen to 32 or even 64gb of music!? I think its a case of nice to have and less to have to do by the user. Thats the kind of world we live in now. The less movements the better! Apple are not complaining mind!
