The maximum is 3x 16gb for one cpu. the maximum is 6x 16gb for 2 cpus. I don't know the minimum. Also this was true with snow l. I sold my machine around a year ago I have read that with ml 4x 16gb is possible I don't know for sure. I can tell you that 3x 16gb per cpu will work. so 96gb ram works.
