I thought about this too. I didn't want to later know that the 16GB wasn't enough, so I stopped thinking about it, as I opted for the 32GB, knowing I wouldn't have use for a 64GB
That argument is not even close to the same comparison. Your computer h/d is where you store your music..... LoL, nice try though. The same argument woucl be applied to the hard drive on your desktop. Why keep it all? Why not just delete everything you can't listen to in a day/week?
The reason of course, is because I like different things at different times, and I can't always predict what I'm in the mood to hear. If there's not enough space, I have to choose based on what I think I might like... and I could be wrong, or I could decide I really wanted to listen to x song, but now I can't because I didn't put it on my phone's limited space.
Orrrrr, I could just buy the storage I need plus a little extra, and then put it all there. And then I don't have to waste time preplanning what I want to listen to/watch.
I'd buy that for a dollar. For me, 16GB is plenty. My media library is close to 100GB, but I don't feel the need to have all of my media with me at all times.
Is 16 gb storage enough? I got an iPod Touch 32 gb and it's nearly full. So should I just go cheap and get the 16 gb version and try to limit what I put on it, or just go all out and get the 64 gb version so that I put anything on it that I want? ( the 64 gb version is more expensive and is very hard to get, there is a long waiting list )

Now for those of you with huge libraries of music why do you feel the need to have all 3000 songs with you? Can't listen to them all in one day, one week ect..... so what's the point of having so many on your phone? Of course with match and cloud you don't need to have it on your phone but what if you don't have internet or service? Are you really going to be missing the 2500 songs you don't have on your phone?
Subjective question asked all the time (try reading the other identical threads). It really depends on you. I'm the type that prefers not having to worry about storage and that's why I have a 64GB iPad 2 and a 64GB iPhone 4s. Obviously, YMMV. What you "should" do is for you to determine. We can't tell you. Where are you willing to compromise? Where are you not? Have you looked to see how much space you could free up on your current device and whether or not 16GB is feasible for you? We can't tell you if 16GB is enough either. Is 16 gb storage enough? I got an iPod Touch 32 gb and it's nearly full. The point is always subjective, regardless of topic. For me, it's variety. Why does it matter why I carry all my music with me? It's my preference. Whether you choose to or not is your preference and I really don't care what you do. There's no such thing as only one valid approach (despite your assertion) or else Apple wouldn't bother offering the different storage capacities. Now for those of you with huge libraries of music why do you feel the need to have all 3000 songs with you? What are you talking about? My iPhone is also where I store my music. That argument is not even close to the same comparison. Your computer h/d is where you store your music..... LoL, nice try though.

The point is always subjective, regardless of topic. Of course it is, never said any different. For me, it's variety. Why does it matter why I carry all my music with me? It doesn't, never said it did. I simply asked a question It's my preference. Whether you choose to or not is your preference and I really don't care what you do. Good, thanks. There's no such thing as only one valid approach (despite your assertion) Please explain when and how I made such an assertion or else Apple wouldn't bother offering the different storage capacities.

You (and certainly others) may prefer to keep your entire library on your computer and only sync a portion to your device. That's your preference -- not everyone's. Yep, never said anything to the contrary. Nice try. Thanks but it wasn't a try, it was a lesson for ya, about to give you another.
