16" MacBook Pro Dictation External Microphone

Is anyone able to successfully use Dictation on the 16" with an external microphone with the lid closed? There is a bug for me. I filed it with Apple months ago. I'm wondering if it is particular to me or if others have the same issue.

I experience the same problem on a 13" MPB and it is indeed annoying.

Same here, and it doesn't seem like this problem has been resolved in Big Sur. This also discussed on the thread MacBook Pro 16 Microphone in Clamshell.
