I thought those animations would take some getting used to, but they are becoming more annoying by the day. Especially the animation that takes you to the first home screen when the app is on another one is tiresome, it seems to take like forever until the 'outer' icons have landed. On top of this, not being able to interact with the home screen until the animation has finished is just cruel.

I tried to give it a chance, but it's not working for me. It just sucks and this needs to be fixed ASAP. I loved iOS because it was snappy. This ain't snappy. I'm truly disappointed. :(

Settings > General > Accessibilty > Reduce Motion > Turn "ON"

lucky then that they already fixed this over a week ago...

accessibility>reduce motion

Sounds like it's time for you to switch to a different OS.

There's just no pleasing some people.
- They're ugly
- They're still slow
- You still have to wait for the animations to finish before you can interact with the home screens

The animations are fundamentally flawed. :(

iOS 6 was for when it comes to snappy animations.

And there are many improvements in iOS 7 that were not in iOS 6.

All I can say is, nothing is perfect. Send feedback to Apple, that's all you can do. Your post here does nothing productive.

I am very delighted with iOS 7. And I am getting so much sadistic pleasure reading about how people with your attitude are suffering under it. I think that's one of the best features of the new version.

Question, I have reduce motion enabled:

In text conversation, when I scroll up to the top or down to the bottom text the text bubbles kind of squish together a little, then expand back to normal spacing -- is that set into iOS7 or can I turn that off, too?

That would be more of an in-app animation, which the [reduce motion] accessibility setting doesn't affect.

How much of a difference can 0.2 of a second make?

I agree. Why can't they just reduce the delay after animation like it was on iOS 6? So we can have real time interaction again.

It's not just 0.2 second because you can't swipe until the animation finish. Example, you swipe inside that 0.2 seconds, you failed. Normal swipe lets say takes 0.3 second. You swipe again, takes another 0.3 seconds. Friggin annoying. Unlike when you are on 3rd page of the home screen, you then press home button. Even as it is still sliding, you can interact or swipe right away. Just try it.

You should try Android; those animations are just as slow if not worse. TouchWiz on my S4 is very laggy.

Until you simply turn them off. The non-animations on my Note 2 look a million times more elegant than the iOS 7 animations.

A lot considering you have to wait for these animations maybe a hundred times a day.

Can see where you're coming from but it really hasn't been a problem for me. And I do use my phone all the time.
