One of the minority here... I went with 16GB.

Having owned iPad since May '10, I'm comfortable knowing exactly how I use it. I hardly travel so having all media on the device isn't a requirement.

At home, I stream all media from either iTunes Home Sharing, or using the Air Video player app. Between these 2, and Netflix, that takes care of all heavy media usage.

Apps are the only thing that is going to take up space, not being a huge gamer, I won't have very many huge apps on the device at any one time.

No sense in paying for extra storage I know I'll hardly ever need. Going to take the 100 bucks I saved and invest in a nice folio case.

Based on my usage with my iPad 2 32GB, I opted for the 16GB. Especially since there is now iTunes Match and I won't be using it much for movie watching (just 1 or 2). It will be mostly used for apps that take advantage of the iPad screen and as a Kindle reader since I decided to get rid of my Kindle.

64GB, I use about 40 for movies on my iPad2, and with converting for 720p or higher, I am gonna need some more wriggle room.

I really hope they can change iOS to allow support for some more file formats, I wouldn't mind only getting 8hours of media play if it meant I didn't have to convert every darn mkv/avi to watch it on y iOS devices.

Same here. I've had a 16GB model since iPad 1, and it's always worked well for me because I depend on the net and my home server to store my media. If I don't have a network connection, I read an ebook.

I wasn't going to buy an iPad and I'am still on the fence whether to go 64gb or 32gb the 110 price difference is not that much for double the amount whilst tempting me to get the 64gb

Same here, only white.

I have only 8GB on my existing iPad and that is nearly all apps--half of which I have not used in months and are just there "because."

I used to keep more on it--like my iTunes music. But with iTunes Match I don't have worry about that (which is good as I rarely use my iPad to listen to music). I also used to load a few movies on it and then never actually watch them. Now I just stream what I want and it is always fresh. No more care-and-feeding of another gadget. On a plane I usually read. Ergo the only media I do keep on it are books, and they don't take much space.

I also have a mb air which will be with me during most any traveling.

Hope I don't regret it!

Exactly! Also netflix helps quite a bit.

That and I'm old fashioned. If I'll watch a movie, it'll be on a huge HDTV with surround sound... ...and blu-ray.

(Don't worry digital is my format for on the go)

16gb is enough for me, especially now with iTunes match. But even beyond that, I had trouble sinking $743 into a 64gb when in just a couple years it'll already be outdated. The $200 I saved can go toward the iPad 4.

With no SD card and only getting the wifi version, I decided to go with 64GB. I figured for my purposes that would be a better use of $100. I forsee lots of iTunes U videos being downloaded.

16gb

I've never had an iPad, so this is my first. I currently have a 32GB iPhone 4. I figured 16GB would be enough for my iPad, as I mainly want it for internet, Netflix, smaller apps. The only thing that worries me is large games, but I can play one or two of those at a time. I don't blame people for going larger, maybe I'll sell mine if the eBay prices get high enough, as I don't really need one and can wait (but it'd be hard lol).

I figured if I want movies (I have music on my phone), I can get one of these with the money I saved:

That way I can have all the movies I want, and a ton of other files. I can't wait to see a 1080p movie on the new iPad, too bad I don't have many Blurays to rip and convert. I wonder if Netflix does 1080p yet? Maybe now I'll have an excuse for LOTR and Star Wars on Bluray :)

I went for the 16GB in the end, it will be my first iPad, was going to get the 64GB but my girlfriend thought I didnt need one at all so we compromised on the 16GB.

My iPad 1 is 16gb and it is almost full - and that's without any music on it. I went with the 32gb this time around. I'm going to put most of my music on it and discontinue use of my iPod Classic.

It's all how you plan to use it.

Unless you are going to use it to primarily surf the internet and check facebook, you may want to consider the following:

- Retina display will cause ALL apps to grow larger in size
- Newer games utilizing quad core processor will be roughly 1 gig in size each
- The ability to record HD video is great but will fill up space quickly

Because of all that I went with the 32gig. What really hurts though is that apple makes more margin on the 32gig and 64gig since flash memory doesn't cost 100 dollars for each increment. They price it that way because they can, not because it costs them that much more.
