I really can't decide now. My mind tells me to get the 32gb but my wallet says the 16gb lol. Now walmart sells the 16gb for 480 making it a $120 difference, plus the tax for the 32gb will be a bit higher, too. That's a significant amount if you ask me :( do you think it's worth it?

Ps: I don't plan to get a 64gb or higher

The Wallet will always say 16gb :) Please do not make the mistake I made, It's better to pay for the 32gb, then realize 2-3 months later you want the 32 but bought the 16gb, and sell the 16gb for a loss or are stuck with it. I went from 16gb to 64gb and only have a few gb left but i don't use a laptop and this contains all my movies and shows while traveling. If you plan on using this device regularly (me and my wife use ours every day and night) Invest the extra money, if you're pockets are still saying no i'd wait to see if Walmart puts the 32 or 64gbs on sale or wait for the Apple Refurbs in a month or so and grab those.

Price is painful when you figure after tax a 128gb iPad 4 is like $670 which is essentially 30-40 more then a 32gb iPad Air. I wish Apple wasn't so greedy with the mark up on space.

Who is this Mr. Wallet and why is he such a kill joy? ;) But seriously, I completely agree. 32gb is the minimum I'd go for this type of investment.

Price is painful when you calc up the cost of the iPad, basic items like a cover and then add tax. It adds up so dang fast. This doesn't even include any paid for apps you want. Oh and AppleCare+. Yikes this is getting expensive!

Unless the retina apps on iPad are substantially larger than a retina iphone then I will be going for 16gb. These things are expensive enough.

Yes and yes. Yes, retina apps are substantially larger and a retina iPad has less available free space from the get go. Yes, they are expensive.

For the usage, I'd like to read manga/comic.
The reason I got a 128GB iPad is because of manga/comics. I like keeping my favorite series on the iPad. Right now, I've got around 75GB worth of manga on my iPad (which I believe is less than 10% of the collection on my PC).

When I first got an iPad, I just bought the 32GB version thinking it'll give me room to breath. I managed to fill it up with manga the very same weekend I got it (and thus, promptly purchased a 64GB model). Even the 64GB didn't give me much breathing room. Before I got my 128GB iPad 4, I kept having to delete manga (on my TBR list) just so I can update apps. After the apps have been updated, I'd immediately put the manga I just deleted back in again. Major pain in the neck.

So to sum it up: if you spend a lot of time in areas without internet connectivity, you watch movies, series, listen to music, read graphic-heavy magazines and you play 4-5 games at a time, get the 32GB one.
On the other hand, if you use it mostly in areas with good internet coverage or if you have an unlimited data plan, and only for browsing the internet or streaming, get a 16GB one (+cellular).
So basically think of what you'll be using it for and make a smart decision.

I personally have a 16GB iPad2 and I never managed to fill up more than 10GB. I don't use it for anything else but browsing the forums/reddit/news sites, watching my youtube subscriptions, RDP-ing on my home PC and I don't really play anything but mindless games with crap graphics, that's why I am going to get a 16GB iPad Air on friday and put the difference towards some nice custom JH Audio IEMs.

But, I have a 64GB iPhone to keep my music on and I wish they made a 128GB version.

And even if you are short of money now, you can later get one of those WiFi drives, like Corsair Voyager Air which for $150 offers you 500GB of storage that will put those 128GB iPad/Bentley owners to shame :)

I've got a Patriot Gauntlet Node with 1TB drive and a Kingston Wi-Drive before that. Okay for photos, videos and music. Not so much for content that can only be opened locally.

My 32 GB iPad Air with no Apps installed or user data shows 26.2 GB available. Is that comparable to what other people are seeing?
