i've had some people want to see it, so i took a video and threw it on youtube pretty quick!

it's nothing special because i'm too busy playing with it! haha but for all of you who would like to see a quick video of it, here you go!

EDIT: i know the screen looks super glossy- which it is but really when working on it i see little to no reflection

ha i'm not worried about any comments made about how i dress, my life is pretty good =)

nice vid, cheers for the effort. Btw i see you got the 2.93 processor; based on your research what sort of improvement will this give you, do you reckon it is worth the $$$?

No, it's not, at least for me. Answer this question for yourself: Is paying $300 for 0.27GHz extra reasonable for you?

1) Battery life.
2) Screen bleed.
3) Temperatures.
4) Coolness factor compared to the old 17" MBP.
5) Speakers compared to the old 17" MBP.
6) Noise with those new fans :D
 
thanks for the video! I have been waiting for a video of an opening! :D I'm hoping I get pick minds up on Saturday morning for the FEDEX place instead of getting it from them on Monday!
 
There was one spot (around 2'30") where it looked like the familiar "theater-light" screen bleed might be in evidence. But maybe it was the video. Can you tell us if (with a fully black screen) the 17" has this characteristic?

1) i got over 4 hours while running imovie, exporting videos and using image stabilization. i still have to check out just normal browsing usage

2) i put black background on. i don't see any bleed, seems evenly lit.

3) my CPU has got up to 80C, and my fans never go above 2000 - is that normal? but when not in imovie this thing runs like 36-42 i'd say.

4) it gets warm but nothing crazy, and i have it on my lap

5) i'm not sure but the speakers seem decent for a laptop

6) this thing is dead silent, maybe if i could get my fans to spin over 2000? at 80 c i think it would...
