What if I told you there are 18 reasons to wait for the iPhone 18. One more reason than 17!

Probably there's enough differences between the Pro and the Pro Max, so Apple should just call the best and biggest iPhone of the series:

iPhone 17 Ultra

That would be very cool.

17 Reasons to Wait for the iPhone 17 implies that the aluminum frame would be a reason to wait for the iPhone 17. Makes no sense to me.

Yeah and interesting there was such a fuss with them going to titanium and here we are going back. What was that all about? Titanium too expensive no doubt…

As things stand, I will hang on to the 15 PM until the 20th anniversary phone in 2027, which will likely be the next major redesign. Not much has changed since the 12 Pro.

Seems like the typical incremental upgrades while keeping the same design. I upgraded this year so not in the market for a 17 but these things would not have made me upgrade anyway.

No 17 for me, my 11 went into terminal decline a while back so two weeks ago I got a 16Pro. I’ll be back in the market in a few years, longer if they bump the price up significantly.

The camera is one the most popular functions on a smartphone, and consequently camera upgrades are one of the biggest reasons people upgrade.

My 12 Pro Max camera is definitely OK, but the newer phones are significantly better. The 17 Pro Max should be even better.
I’m still rocking the 12 Max—and it’s fine. Sure, I wouldn’t mind something newer, but I’m holding off. My son’s got the 14 Max, and I didn’t see much difference in the photo files anyway. 🤷‍♂️

To be honest, there's hardly any reason to upgrade to a new iPhone since like 2020. Why bother moving from a perfectly working 12 Pro to something like this? I have a 14 Pro and I deeply regret moving from 12 Mini to this brick. The new phones from Apple have absolutely nothing that would make me get rid of my perfectly working and brand new looking 14 Pro, and I won't until they make another smaller device maybe with some Pro features to make it really worth it. This years iPhone will be as boring as they were every year since 2020. There's no reason to wait for iPhone 17, and I highly doubt there will be any reason at all to wait for the 18. It will still be an ugly huge brick with a massive camera bump.
As someone who had had every phone (at least the pro versions) that is wrong. The 12P was nowhere near as good and refined as the 13PM, after the 13PM, nothing has been really worth upgrading to, but the 16PM had gained enough features worth upgrading to.

Let’s see how the 17 plays out, but I might just skip it.

I'm still curious why so many people still think aluminum is a downgrade. It's lighter and has better thermal transfer to cool the device down better, and with proper frame design, as Apple has done since the iPhone 6, you're not going to get a bendable iPhone again. The only downside I can see is that it scratches and shows dings more easily, but that's the risk you take when you don't put it in a case. There are plenty of ultra-thin cases that almost make it feel like you don't have anything on your phone.

It may seem like standard everyday stuff to people these days, but back in my day (when I tied an onion to my belt, as it was the style at the time. Does anyone have 5 bumblebees for a quarter? Nickles had pictures of bumblebees on them) You had to sit down and look at pictures in an album.
Upvoted for the Grandpa Simpson reference

Generally speaking there is little difference between 12 Pro and 13 Pro. When 13 came out I though they were joking. Looks like they were dead serious and still are to this day. I know someone with an Xs and that person still doesn't see why bother with getting a new iPhone, it's more or less the same. The same person had every single iPhone up until Xs. Apple is plain boring at the moment, boring old cash cow, used to give me shivers back in the day but now it's just this old boring cash cow Cookie keeps on milking. No innovation, no shockers, no reason to upgrade.
