Just curious to see what people wanted in iOS 8 that apple didn't give us this time. I felt that they fulfilled a wide variety of requests that overall really improved the operating system.

A big missing feature for me though was up next, something I've been waiting for since it was released in iTunes many versions ago.

a big one people will point to is the ability to set default apps such as using google maps as the default maps app or fantastical as the default calendar app. it doesn't bother me too much; i manage fine as is in ios 7, but it would be nice to see. aside from that, i'm very pleased with ios 8's feature set.

I think the new sharing and extention features between apps will help offset this a little bit at least allowing things to be easier moved around. Also it will allow for special features from app store apps to be added to some stock apps if I understand it correctly.

• More toggles (and customisation) for Control Centre.

• Option to make the low battery alerts into banners.

Small stuff IMO.

They mostly delivered everything I wanted. Side by Side multitasking on iPad is the one thing I'm left craving. Theres smaller things like control center customization and being able to set default apps.

Clear all for notifications. Swiping to remove notifications. This would all make getting rid of notifications SO MUCH EASIER. I was an avid Android user who had to switch to iOS for work (I enjoy both platforms), and I wouldn't mind a direct cop of these features.

The little "x" for each set of notifications is so frustrating.

Apple wants you to buy multiple iPads so they arent going to give you multiple user accounts :p:D

I'm hoping that Apple will add this in the fall if they add touch ID to the next generation iPads. I thought that maybe the family sharing was there way to deal with the media being shared with the multiple accounts.

Customizable global EQ settings. Even non customizable global EQ settings would have been something. I guess I'm just talking to myself. No one seems to care about this except me. :(

I hope they add streaming dictation like they did for siri queries.

It's strange that they didn't add this in since they did for Siri, it actually seems like a more useful feature for dictation. Hopefully it's something they just haven't gotten around to changing and they will before the public release.

Kind of what I am thinking.. we know the core functionality is there. Just wait a few betas and we will get it.

Ability to customise control centre.
Attach multiple files to e-mail.*
Decent filesystem implementation.*

* I've resigned myself to the fact that iOS will probably never have these, but doesn't stop me wanting them.

iCloud Drive is the closest you are gonna get.

So funny reading the responses to this thread. Basically, people want iOS to be Android. Go get Android and you wont be let down any further with iOS updates.

Yeah. That's not happening.

I've played with other people's iPads from time to time and they're nice toys, but I'm *not* going to share my 'environment' with my family. My younger daughter would have seven screenfuls of Angry Bird variants and a selection of One Direction wallpapers on there within moments.

It didn't get the feature to check to see when the NSA is spoofing us. It also didn't get the feature to hack into Chicago like in Watch Dogs...I only joke.
