Yea apple is still signing 7.1.2 just put your ipad in DFU mode and restore while you can.

As with most big software releases apple uses the public as Guinea pigs to work out kinks for future releases

Oh good, was hoping someone would beta test this on an iPad 3 🙂 I won't update my mums for a while then if it's that bad.

I was going to keep my 5 on 7 (I use iPhoto for editing daily and haven't found a better alternative) and update my ipad 3.... Oh well 🙁!

i tried the GM a few days ago but i went back to iOS 7 after a few hours because the lag of the animations and the slowness of iMessage drove me insane especially since i was used to speeding up the animations with Springtomize. Thank god i have that back, the default animations by apple are even too slow for me.

I'm on an iPad 3. I updated to iOS 8. I don't find it unstable at all. Yes, Safari seems to load Pages more often. It's not a deal killer though. Overall, I am enjoying the iOS 8 experience.

It is markedly slow. Safari has serious issues, reloads pages often. Apps seem slower to load and noticed some glitchy animations. I may delete all content and settings and try to start from scratch to see if it helps any.

I'm glad you posted this because I was already hesitant about updating my iPad 3. This has confirmed by misgivings so I will just hold off using iOS 8 on an iPad until I purchase a new iPad Air later this year.

iPad 3 user here.. iOS 8 is running perfectly fine on my device. About the same performance as 7 if not a little smoother.

Certainly not me. I'm running Scott Forstall's iOS 5.1.1 😎

well aren't you so cool!!!!!!

maybe everyone who's using an iPad 3 and NOT running iOS 8 should chime in also, then this thread will be really long and without any useful info!

😎

Really laughing at all you iPad 3 owners who foolishly updated to 8, yet alone 7. My iPad 3 runs just as fast as the day I bought it with iOS 6.1.2.
