My wife got the 6 and I got the 6+ so I've had a chance to use both, though mine a lot more throughout the day.

The 6 really really feels nice, it's not too big at all and still feels like a phone. I'm really liking it while I'm very split on the 6+. The 6+ is great for content viewing as you would expect, but handling it is seriously a challenge. Even maneuvering it in your hand from say viewing something to wanting to shut the screen off and putting it in your pocket takes concentration whereas with the older 5 (and with the 6 I assume) just feels like second nature.

This is going to sound super pansy but using the 6+ one handed is making my forearm cramp up. :D I don't know if it's the way I'm holding it or what but it really isn't comfortable. I don't know if the big screen is worth the trade off.

I find to be able to actually reach the home button and all the keys on the keyboard, I really need to hold the phone like this which is somewhat unstable...supporting the phone on my pinkie and leaning it back a little...

Doing so I can easily reach the home button...

And the farthest away key on the keyboard (P)...

Again though the problem is that it's not very secure in your hand. If I do hold it tight, like this, then I can't reach the home button at all or all the keys...

One way that is actually pretty comfortable and useful when browsing the net one handed is to hold it like this...

They even put the Bookmarks icon and list on the left side so it works well...

I thought the biggest issue was going to be how it fits in my pocket but that really isn't a problem, at least not in slacks, though they are pretty skinny slacks and no problem.

The 6+ really feels more like a mini tablet with a phone feature vs a phone that does other stuff, which the 6 still feels like. Haven't really decided what to do with it, I pre-ordered from Apple.com so not sure if I can just exchange in store or if I have to mail it back to them. Probably would be easier to sell it on eBay or Craigslist and then just go buy a 6 outright if I end up doing that.

I can't tell you how appreciative I am of all the people who pre-ordered the 6+ and are now contemplating returning it, while I'm waiting for mine to arrive on Thursday. It seems strange with all the 5.5"+ screened phones out there that you could have tried to see if that sized phone would be to your liking that you either didn't do it or ignored your gut.

LOL what? :p

You drive a BMW... that brings out the skanks ;)

That being said, the iPhone 6 is as big as I can handle. It's pushing the limit with my reach when using one handed. I can't imagine trying to use the Plus.

Oh I did it...made cardboard mock ups, checked out similar sized phones, read up...still didn't really give me an idea of what it would be like to use in my normal routine while walking, talking on the phone, in the car, etc.

Compare it we did. For example to my son's LG G3. Unfortunately the 6+ is much bigger due to the law of ridiculous bezels Apple seems bound by.

Have you considered using assisting touch?

You mean the Reachability feature? Yeah, use it all the time...you HAVE to if using it one handed. Problem is that it doesn't work for everything and what I mean is if you get a drop down notification while you're using the phone for example, like a text or email, you can't tap on it because you can't reach. It doesn't come down with the rest of the items...very frustrating as you have to use your other hand to get to it and do it fast before it disappears.

To each their own, but there's no other phone I'd rather have than the iPhone 6+. I only had one criteria it had to meet prior to getting it: 1.) It had to be able to fit into my pocket... Which it does. Form factor is great to me, but I do have big hands. Also, the double-tap home button feature has already proved to be extremely useful with the 6+.

Why you gotta be a hater, bro? Let the man speak his mind. He's definitely not wrong, and it's very difficult to use other phones as a comparison, especially just going to a Best Buy and playing with them for 5 minutes - much different than using it for a day.

Anyhow, to the real matter at hand...

I agree, HXGuyAZ... it is awkward. I was also worried about it not fitting in my pocket, but was pleasantly surprised to find this not to be an issue. IMO, the 6 Plus is a device that will be just be used differently. It isn't a one-handed device like we're used to with previous phones (especially iPhones). But, I think more and more phones will adopt the larger screen size, and people will adjust to using it differently. I guess it's sort of like the non-hardware keyboard –*at first, everyone thought it was awkward and strange to use. But, as it became more common, we adopted. I know it's slightly different, but just trying to illustrate my point. But, I still think all your points are more than valid. :)

Good point on that...we probably can adapt and Apple will also make some changes I assume, or at least I hope, for the drop down notifications like I mentioned earlier.

Agreed. It's pretty irritating that all of these people are complaining about the size of the 6+ and plan to return it while those of us that gladly welcome the bigger phone have to wait for our phones to arrive. I don't mean to come across as a jerk its just frustrating. And yes, I tried to preorder for a couple of hours before heading to bed frustrated so i could get a couple of hours sleep before work.

Unfortunately my iPhone 6+ got delayed and isn't going to be in my hands until Monday. I did go to the Apple store today to see this beauty and it fits perfectly in my hands. I don't nt have pictures of how I held it but it was fine. I was able to reach about 85%-90% of the screen whole adjusting my hand. It truly is a beautiful device

pinkie on the bottom isn't unstable. I've been doing just that for years with the iPhone. You learn to trust that method when you have it plugged into a charger but are still using it.

I know what your mean the regular 6 just feels perfect in your hand. Not to heavy not to light.

I've been doing the pinkie on the bottom for years too but with the old phone, you could do that but also grip it between your fingers and middle of your palm.

You could have put the time in like the rest of us

Waited 8 hours to get a plus, and right now I'm feeling like it might be a little too big

I'll probably just sell it for 1500-1600 and go get a 6

It's insane how much they are selling for on Craigslist, or at least what people are listing them for. Are they really getting that much?

eBay is quite high too...

It seems that you pretty much answered your own questions.... Seems simple to me, if you are more comfortable with the 6 go with that.

I'm sure you will be happy.

Why you gotta be a hater, bro?

I'm not "hatin'", just incredulous at the amount of threads being created here wherein people who ostensibly have a pretty good head for technology are acting shocked and awed by the size of the phone and are planning on returning it. It seems like the Plus was the most sought after and biggest seller amongst the new iPhone models; it's hard to swallow that predictions that most would end up being returned are coming true.

By the way, I got up at 2am CDT to pre-order my phones; they were ordered at 2:36. It's not as if I didn't put in the effort to get mine, but the system was clogged with people who were pre-ordering iPhones that they would apparently be returning the day after they received them.

Yes, alright, that sounds harshly bitter. It's not really your fault; it's hard to read the complaints about something I personally feel like you should have been better prepared for.

I wanted the 6+ but changed to 6 last min. Very happy I did. I tried the 6+ at the Apple store today and while I can reach across and hold it I realized my hand was really working at it. So much so I didn't have a good grip. I know I'd drop it. For that matter, the 6 itself is way less secure in my hand than my 5S. I'm sure it'll get better but at the end of the day the 6 is way better for my hand. (I have fairly large hands too)

Ok so I'm watching some HD trailers in 1080P (Transformers on the Trailers App from Apple) and holy wow I'm in awe! It's insanely good.

Maybe I can adjust?
