Nope. How often will you be watching transformers on a phone? Is that really worth it? You'll hate the damn thing in a month. Get a 6.

Yeah I'm sitting here thinking...this thing is REALLY great for home use, like an iPad mini...but that's not what it should be, at least not for me. I do a lot of business on my cell phone, calling clients and such all day, a lot of time from the car and I need to be able to use it one handed, it's a must. Today while driving it was practically impossible, took a bit of concentration and like I mentioned earlier, some things cannot even be done unless you use two hands.

NOOOOOO you had to use two hands....the horror!!!!!!!

My wife got the 6 and I got the 6+ so I've had a chance to use both, though mine a lot more throughout the day.

The 6 really really feels nice, it's not too big at all and still feels like a phone. I'm really liking it while I'm very split on the 6+. The 6+ is great for content viewing as you would expect, but handling it is seriously a challenge. Even maneuvering it in your hand from say viewing something to wanting to shut the screen off and putting it in your pocket takes concentration whereas with the older 5 (and with the 6 I assume) just feels like second nature.

This is going to sound super pansy but using the 6+ one handed is making my forearm cramp up. :D I don't know if it's the way I'm holding it or what but it really isn't comfortable. I don't know if the big screen is worth the trade off.

I find to be able to actually reach the home button and all the keys on the keyboard, I really need to hold the phone like this which is somewhat unstable...supporting the phone on my pinkie and leaning it back a little...

Doing so I can easily reach the home button...

And the farthest away key on the keyboard (P)...

Again though the problem is that it's not very secure in your hand. If I do hold it tight, like this, then I can't reach the home button at all or all the keys...

One way that is actually pretty comfortable and useful when browsing the net one handed is to hold it like this...

Image

They even put the Bookmarks icon and list on the left side so it works well...

I thought the biggest issue was going to be how it fits in my pocket but that really isn't a problem, at least not in slacks, though they are pretty skinny slacks and no problem.

The 6+ really feels more like a mini tablet with a phone feature vs a phone that does other stuff, which the 6 still feels like. Haven't really decided what to do with it, I pre-ordered from Apple.com so not sure if I can just exchange in store or if I have to mail it back to them. Probably would be easier to sell it on eBay or Craigslist and then just go buy a 6 outright if I end up doing that.

Picked up my Plus today and completely agree with your post. It's gonna take some getting used to with the Plus and the regular 6 seems more like a "normal" iPhone. But man I don't think I can give up this big screen. The 6 kinda felt like a minimal upgrade screen wise imho while the Pkus truly feels like a brand new phone (a big one at that). at this point I'll be keeping the plus but obviously its only been one day

I actually played with one for few minutes at Best Buy today and I am more eager to get my 6+ now. While it is big, I'm trying to consolidate two devices into one (Nexus 7 and iPhone 5).

Just wondering what made you choose the 6+? Seems like you need portability and a phablet just doesn't seem to fit at all what you were looking for.

OP, I would focus on the benefits of the 6 Plus - larger display, larger battery, optical image stabilization, etc. Since you appear to be a business professional, the 6 Plus is better suited towards enterprise. The larger display lends itself to productivity. The 6 Plus is also a rare bird at the moment so I would consider yourself lucky to currently own one.

Really? I don't have to but then again I do have big hands. 6 Plus works awesome for me. To each their own I guess.

Most instances yes, but can you really use it one handed if you get a drop down notification? There really isn't a way to reach it in my opinion, especially before it disappears. :p

pretty sure thats illegal...alert the authorities!!!!!

Not in Arizona it's not. :)

Reason I wanted the 6+ was because I do a lot of internet browsing so the bigger screen is obviously better for that, plus I use LogmeIn to access my Mac remotely so again, the bigger screen is great for that, it was a huge pain on the 5S. The longer battery life was also a plus as was the OIS.

I would give it a week before you make a decision. If you really like it for the most part then you may develop different ways to work with it (i.e. using siri more) The key is during this testing period is to not focus on or think about the negatives just try and figure out ways to best use it.

The funny thing is the first picture where you say it feels unstable is how i have always held my iPhones one handed. I have never really been a full on grip person so when I started holding my 6+ like that it just felt natural.

You drive a BMW... that brings out the skanks ;)

That being said, the iPhone 6 is as big as I can handle. It's pushing the limit with my reach when using one handed. I can't imagine trying to use the Plus.

Exactly. I would take it back the 6 is massive and just the limit for mostly one handed use, even requires 2 at times. No way would I be comfortable with a plus and I'm 6'2 with big hands.

I got something like this for the car. This will allow you to use it one handed.

Yep, same here...but with the old iPhone 5 because so much smaller, there was a lot more hand around it so it never felt unstable the way the 6+ does. Here's a quick photo...

And here is an old 4S it's like a freaking toy! :D

Personally I am very happy with my 6 Plus. Is it a one hand phone for me? Probably not. I really haven't made a call on this do I don't know how weird it will look. And it's been on my desk at work all day, so this is the first time I've carried it. So far, so good.

I think as a desk phone it's fantastic, though at the same time anything I can do on the phone while at the desk, why wouldn't I just do it on the computer?

Just dawned on me. If they do a 6+ size iPod touch, that'll be a really cool device! iPad Nano!

OP just give it 10 days. I have had the Note 3 and LG G3. Note 3 was a big phone, but I got used to it in no time. Felt some of the same things you express in this thread at first with those phones too. It will never be as easy to hold as a smaller phone, but in 10 days you'll know if the battery life, OIS camera, and larger / higher PPI screen is worth the trade off.

Both phones are good so it isn't a bad decision either way. It is simply a matter of where do you want your trade offs.

I'd also add that part of the bigger phone move for me was combining it with my wallet. I am waiting on some of the thin cases for the 6+ with 3 card slots to get released. I loved this decision - not only does my wallet ring when I lose it but I also have just one larger item to carry around vs two smaller.

You could do the exact same thing with the iPhone 6 too. It doesn't matter to me which one you pick to be terribly honest. Just pointing out a different way to consider a larger phone.

when did macrumors turn into livejournal? phone works for you or it doesn't - we couldn't ****** care less.
