mine's not that impressive

1806 songs, 4.4 days, 6.5GB

although it's worth mentioning i don't have all my CD's on iTunes...prefer to listen to them on my CD-player (Onkyo for those who are wondering)...about 2500 songs not on iTunes

i went to a very big music school and quite a few of my friends from there have 5k on their iPods alone

i'm 18 btw and think all of you with 10k songs collect them, not listen to them

Hardly! The total listening time of my iTunes library is something like 2 months, I would give you the exact number but I don't have my library atm...

I too am into music in a big, big way. I wish somebody would come out with a decent solution for ripping vinyl onto a computer though. Most of these USB record decks are actually crap. All I need is a piece of software which allows me to easily split one big recording from my Rega into separate tracks. GarageBand or Logic work, but that would take aaages with my collection :(

Age 17, 7568 songs, 20 days. Working at a store that sells used CDs helps though.

Yep - someone is still at school. Then when you have kids, you get even more money and spare time? I must be doing something wrong. ;-)

Me, too.

I have bought all the CD's in my collection, over 10k, btw age 26 myself so maybe I shouldn't be in this thread, but almost each song I own has a memory from it, and at the least I remember buying almost each cd. (most of the receipts are still in the coverslips) Mostly listen to my songs on shuffle mode, or whole albums, I am not really one for playlists except for my shuffles.

So I guess what I am saying, is that I am both a collector and a listener, not just one.

But then again, I am also somewhat of a musician.

16 years old, 19.87 gigs of music, around 10,000 songs-ish.

That must be **** quality?

I have:

13,000 songs all in 320kbps mp3 (about 100GB)
50 HD 720p to 1080i movies (480GB)

HEHE. I just turned 18 a couple weeks ago. I'm also a mobile DJ and entertainer, I own my own business and I DJ big sweet 16s and parties, hence the large collection. I have it in 3 places:

1) on 2 Harddrives (2x750GB in Raid)
2) On an external Drive (the music) for when I DJ parties
3) Another external drive at an offsite storage facility

took me a long time to get all this stuff, aint gonna lose it now

All of the tracks are from CDs that I have bought myself. No illegal downloads.
Im currently updating all of the songs to a higher bit rate, so that will keep me occupied for a little while.

Btw, im 17.

I just have a problem that I like all good music.

But I found this was actually kinda small. Oh these music forums I peruse, a lot of people are in the mutiple of hundreds of gigbytes. I guess with modern hard drives it isn't as a big problem.

Can't comment on the "money" part, but he meant you've lived longer and therefore had more years to collect music, not that you had more free time to dig through old music store bins.

Anyway, I thought my collection was big, too, but I guess not.

I've got 981 songs that last 2.6 days and take up 20.85 GB (I rip in Apple Lossless).

My overall library is bigger (41.78 BG - I have many TV shows and several movies.).

ive got ~27000 songs...

...screenshot to come

edit - i just added it up, 27470 for music, but i cant take the shot yet because ~700 songs need to be added/sorted. also, i dont keep my movies/tv shows in itunes, but i will shoot the folder size and approximate the numbers... oh and i dont count either, as im 21, but thought i would post for fun also :)

edit 2 - here is the movies, 96 of them total and if I wasnt almost out of space I would have more...

as for tv shows, I wont bother because I only have desperate housewives season 2 and survivorman season 1, space issue again. itunes coming soon. (and before i get chewed out for being on windows, its my media center and thats it, i use my powerbook for EVERYTHING else i do.

Impressive! I looked through all the pages to see if anyone had more than me and you most certainly do. FWIW, I don't even know half of the crap I have. Used to have somewhere around 23,000 but I started deleting things I knew I didn't like.

I don't qualify anyways since I'm 20, but thought I'd post for fun.
