According to reports on Twitter, Reddit and MacRumors forums, Amazon's Visa Rewards card is now compatible with Apple Pay. Amazon reportedly enabled the feature today, moving quickly to bring the mobile payments service to consumers who were disappointed in Amazon for not supporting Apple Pay at launch.

Apple Pay launched on Monday with support from a large number of credit card companies and banks. Among the launch partners were Chase, which is the issuing bank for the Amazon Visa Rewards card. Amazon reportedly was the only Chase consumer card not supporting Apple Pay, sparking rumors that the retailer was deliberately rebuffing Apple's mobile payment efforts for competitive reasons.

Hey, Amazon Chase Visa cards now work with Apple Pay, complete with Amazon logo on the card and all. That was fast. - Dave Rutledge (@_) October 24, 2014
Amazon dispelled these rumors by confirming it would enable Apple Pay soon, but few expected the rollout to happen so quickly. Customers with an Amazon Visa Rewards card should be able to add the credit card to Apple Pay with full support for mobile payments.

That move was rather quickly. Now.. awaiting for my Credit Union to support Apple Pay. Any users who have success adding their Credit Union card to Apple Pay?

Not true, all Chase Mastercard credit cards are not supported.

I added my Amazon Visa this morning without issue. There was a lot of discussion and requests on the Amazon discussion boards for this. Alot of people were stating they would cancel their cards and stop buying from Amazon if it was not resolved. Glad to see they acted quickly. With yesterday's Amazon earning report they could not afford to lose customers for not enabling :apple:Pay.

Thanks, Apple and Amazon, for playing nicely on this.

Now, could you two sit down and bring Amazon Prime Movies/TV to the appleTV?

Please?

Actually Chase is the bank that pays the Amazon Rewards cards.

This is weird because my regular Chase ATM card has yet to work with AP but my Rewads card does.

Great, now if PNC could get in line my life would be complete.
Agreed. Luckily, they should be coming soon. Their twitter account says they're scheduled for Apple's second phase roll-out and will be available in the next "several weeks" whatever that means...

I was able to load my Chase ATM (debit card) into :apple:Pay without issue, but I haven't tried to use it yet. Is your debit card a Visa? I have heard the MC is not supported yet for Chase.

Barclaycard

How funny is it that my Barclaycard (Apple’s credit card partner for purchases) isn’t yet supported?! Oh yeah, wait, it’s not at all comical!

Yeah they've been saying that for a while. What\when is phase 2? No one knows.....

The interest rate of so high on the Barclay Card (over 20%!) that I will never use it after I finish paying off my MacBook (with 0% interest) in the next couple of months. Maybe the interest rate will go down after I pay off the interest free balance, but if not it will gather dust in a drawer or I will cancel it.

Same here. Is because they are MasterCards and not Visas. Apparently MC will work next year.

Well done Amazon!

Now, that is a company with customers' satisfaction as a priority. No wonder they are so successful.

Just added my Amazon Visa card without any issues. So glad we got this sooner than later! Love my Amazon card.

Now if only Discover will get on this wagon too. Would love to use my Discover IT card to rack up points using Apple Pay.

Maybe this Amazon card is the start of phase 2? I was really expecting PNC to be in the first rollout since Apple said that Visa was a partner and PNC has been advertising Apple Pay on their website since it was announced.
