As we approach the launch of the Apple Watch, retail employees who will be demoing the devices have been sharing information with various rumor sites, including MacRumors and 9to5Mac, detailing what they're learning about the Apple Watch and how the upcoming try-on process will work.

Apple Watch employees have already been receiving training on the Apple Watch, but special meetings will take place at retail stores starting next week to give all retail employees a chance to go hands-on with the watch.

Many employees will see the watch in person for the first time at this point, and Apple will use the meetings to give them further training on the device. In its training materials, Apple has told employees they will "be the first to see Apple Watch, the first to try it on and the first to share it with the world."

After that training period, the Apple Store will be transformed overnight on April 9, ahead of the company's try-on and pre-order period, which begins on April 10. The store will be equipped with new Apple Watch tables, which feature the device displayed under glass. Tables will include areas where customers can try on the devices, and Apple employees will schedule 15 minute appointment times for each customer who wants to see the Apple Watch in person.

There will be employees on hand to show customers all versions of the Apple Watch, including the high-end Edition models at select retail stores. After trying on a watch, a customer will be able to place a reservation for the device, and it will become available for pickup on April 24, the official Apple Watch launch date.

In addition to scheduling appointments to try the watch on in store and make a reservation, customers will also be able to pre-order the device online beginning on April 10.

Holy crap. Just realizing the Apple Watch sport only works with the sport band. Well, Watch it is then.

I'm buying the Aluminium Sport model and matching it with the $7000 gold buckle leather band.

I just hope that they let us do a "pick up in store" when we make our pre-orders! I want mine delivered to tax free NH!

I want to go for the Sport as it's cheapest (and lightest, too, which is nice) but I want the classic leather strap. I did originally want an Apple Watch with Links band, but I've been turned off by the price. The Watch is so much money that I cannot justify it.

Unless I want to go for function over the fashion element, I can't justify buying one.

However, I will be getting an Apple TV :D

The Sport Bands are so ugly. I don't mind the rubber, just the design is janky.

At first I was going to get the sport model because it was lighter. But the final pricing was released, the SS model isn't that bad on price. I really like the SS look.

It doesn't. The chart pictured indicates which you can buy together.

It's only possible to buy an Apple Watch Sport with a Sport Band. However, you can also buy an additional band (like a milanese loop) which will work with the Sport.

You can then either throw away, sell, or keep the second band as a spare. :)

Love the matte look of the Sport. Ashamed it doesn't get Sapphire or a ceramic back, even though I'll still buy it over the stainless model.

you're gonna wanna edit that post or you're going to get replied-to into oblivion with all the forum geniuses correcting you. just a heads up.

This will be good for the store employees, like everyone I am sure they are finally happy to have some new products

Not what it says at all. Only that you will only be able to PURCHASE an Apple Watch Sport with a sport band. You need to buy a separate band to use the other bands - it won't come with the watch.

Or, you can get the Sport and wait a month or two for the after market bands to show up and get something that might be much more to your liking for much less than what Apple is offering. It seems to me that the bands are where the real profit is in the Apple watch. I predict that the depreciation on selling old Apple bands will be monumental. I doubt anyone would even pay for a used sport band
