In response to Chundles' and Lacreo's comments in the soda thread, I decided to pose the all-important question.

MR members, what is your favorite mixed drink?

I'm 15, so I can't really offer anything here, but I'm still interested to hear what people have to say.:p

Well, I do. :) Gin and tonic with a slice of lime, go easy on the tonic.

The dude also enjoys a White Russian.

The dude prefers a Bourbon Sidecar.

Once, when the dude was a young college lad, a friend bought him his first martini shaker. The dude decided to make a rum and coke, and being young, in college and stupid, he shook the rum and coke. :p

Wiskey with fizzy water, its a bt strong but with the amount of water i drink i dotn get a hangover the next day.

Vodka and tonic with a good twist of fresh lime.... easy on the tonic is the choice when I want something refreshing.

I also like a good mojito although that's probably classed as a cocktail rather than a mixed drink.

On the soft-side, I enjoy orange or lemon squash with my London water. Bottled water, I'll take neat

Most of the time I drink either beer, tequila or wine.
For mixed drinks, I'd say Vodka+OJ, Bloody Mary, or vodka with something else.
I also like Bourbon+Coke, but almost never drink it.

As a big fan of the Gin and Tonic, my brother suggested a rum and tonic. Now I thought this was a ridiculous idea, but then I tired it. Yeehaw!

BUT, it can't be a silver rum like Bacardi. You have to use an amber colored one (but not a spiced rum like Captain Morgan's). Personally I'd suggest Mount Gay, it's real Barbados rum...

Thanks to the OP for bringing up thought of my favourite mixed drink ..

Name: Red Vette

Recipe: 1 shot of peach schnapps
1 or 2 shots of vodka (any brand but no flavoured):p
5 to 6 ounces of red cranberry juice

add ice to high ball glass

Pour the vodka/schnapps into the glass/ add juice, ice and stir... yummy

its been more than a year since i had one, now i crave one now @ 8.40am pst

Gin and Tonic w/lime (make mine a Bombay S. or Tanqueray...a waste of good gin, but much better than a tonic made with bad gin).

Not making the list: A Seabreeze (vodka, cranberry/grapefruit juice), a Greyhound (vodka, grapfruit juice -- no egg white, thanks), or a Margarita on the rocks (mix, tequila and ice).

All four are summer drinks for me though, since the Pacific NW winter doesn't really lend itself to ice-cold, fruity drinks. An occasional Hot Chocolate with peppermint schnapps come up this time of year.

Vodka Lemon lime and bitters

White Russian

A 5:1 martini, 5 parts gin and one moment silence for the vermouth

Vodka fresh lime muddled with ice and cranberry juice

Kaluha, Creme de Menthe and milk. It's just as good without the milk but doesn't last as long. We call it a "Get Nude" cause that's generally what happens. Tastiest drink in the world.

Baileys, baileys, baileys, baileys, baileys and ice. Yes, I have been known to drink it straight out of a stainless steel milkshake container. I can drink a bottle in about half an hour.

Red wine, an open fire and the soft curves of a lady under my hand. Oh god I miss that one.

Strong Island Iced Tea.
(like a Long Island Iced Tea but stronger, surprisingly)

2 shots of:

Tequila
Gin
Triple Sec
Vodka
Rum

into a pint glass then chuck in some ice cubes and top up with Coke!

Only single shots and Pre ice and Coke
