Great tip! Just got back from Target and they had the Snap Shield Secure for $19.99. Picked one up and it fits my new iPad like a glove.

Since they were on sale, I actually bought 2 of them and one fits a little bit better than the other. Goes on and off a little easier, but not much of a difference. Either way, I think they're fine.

Just picked up my Snap Shield Secure Belkin from Target on my lunch break. $19.99 sale price I couldn't pass up.

I guarantee you that the Belkin snap shield cases for iPad 2 will appear to fit on the next gen iPad, but WILL CRACK within a few days. I guarantee it!

Oh, and did I mention - I guarantee you this case will crack on the next gen iPad!!! I'll bet on it.

Been using it for almost 2 weeks and NO cracks. Even took it off and put it on several times.

Good news and bad news to EVERYONE USING THE SNAP SHIELD SECURE FROM IPAD2!!

Your guarantee is off.. I have been using it since iPad launch day... has not cracked and there are no stress marks whatsover! Belkin improved the design and build quality! Its been 3 weeks and no cracks...

REALLY BAD NEWS for all the OCD iPad owners using this case: Check the corner right above your iPads camera.. there is a good chance that it is scratched right on the corner.. my buddy from work have the EXACT SAME scratch on that corner.. kind of looks like the iPads silver paint is rubbed off right on the corner.. tightness of the case is causing it to rub on the iPad until it scratches it =/

You're luckier than I was. Two of these cases cracked on me - I got the frost ones from Target for $19.99 (meant for iPad2) and put them on my next gen iPad. I'm not rough on my iPad in any way.

Mine is a 19.99 Smoke from target for iPad 2.. like i said, no cracks at all -- but scratched on the iPad which is far worse! =( im getting the iPad 3 version of this case from Amazon on Tuesday.

Whatever the reality of this is (it's possible there are 2 batches of these iPad2 cases being sold in Target - one with the cracking problem and one without), I would STRONGLY recommend that folks save their $20 and go with a case specifically designed for the next gen iPad.

Speck SmartShell which they said will be available in a week. Locks the cover on and locks it open.

how do you know itll be available in a week? also.. the iPad 2 version of the case did not lock the smart cover in place.. where did you see that the iPad3 version will? thank you =)... if it is as you say it is, i think i will have found the perfect case for my needs in a week...

I contacted Speck regarding the availability but I may be wrong on locking the smart cover on.

I really want a cover that does both but if I have to choose, I will lock the smart cover on rather than open.

Im with you on that one. I thought I wanted a rear magnet to keep the smart cover open. That is fine and dandy when I am reading or web browsing... but when my hand position changes towards the side of the iPad so I can type, one side of the smart cover stays put (side with magnet, of course) and the other side starts bulging into my hand.. its quite uncomfortable.. So even with the magnet there, I find myself flipping the smart cover in half behind the iPad.. that way, my left hand is always holding it in place even when I type... hope my explanation makes sense.. i found it hard to describe once i started typing this reply, hehe...

Thanks, I get what your saying:D. I will now just pick a cover thats available and not worry about the back magnet.

No reason to take this kind of risk.. there are a lot of cases specially designed for new ipad available ... why to put an iPad 2 case on New ipad...

I gave up on Belkin already... really poor quality ... now I am going to get the incipio smart feather
