Should I buy 1Password from the Apple App store or directly from AgileBits... and why?

Personally, I value the WiFi syncing higher than iCloud syncing. Your needs may differ.

Personally, I value the WiFi syncing higher than iCloud syncing. Your needs may differ.

But my understanding is the Mac App Store version has iCloud Sync + Wifi sync + Dropbox sync, so it's not an either or proposition, is it?

Apple only allows iCloud sync on apps purchased from Apple. You're always better off purchasing through Apple.

That is true, kind of. This is from the 1Password manual referring to the version purchased from the Mac App Store:
"It is also only possible to sync your primary vault with iCloud. If you have multiple vaults, you may sync additional vaults with Dropbox or Wi-Fi Sync."

I purchased through App Store and am very happy with it.
I do not use iCloud, but rather Dropbox to sync with iOS devices.

As far as I know, version bought directly from AgileBits can be upgraded to a newer one (if it's a paid upgrade) cheaper than version from Mac App Store (where you would have to pay full price unless they lowered it for everyone for some time after release). And if you have bought it just few months before paid upgrade release, you'd get new version for free (not possible via Mac App Store).
