Went to the Password app and never looked back. Wayyyyy easier with all the integration, syncing, and 'free'!

Couldn't for the life of me get family members to use the 1Password app, but with Apple it's beyond easy to share everything with groups and everyone is forced to use it anyway, so makes it easier from a family standpoint.

We are on our last year of 1Password family. When it expires we are gone..

It has gone from a great product - to mostly an annoyance. It is bloated and slow (when it works) - and GUI “candy” seems to slow it even more.

My 1p V7 still runs FASTER than my V8 version (Got a few iPads on V7 and others on V8). Sadly I upgraded my main MBP M1 to V8 and it is horrible.

We will migrate to the Password app as it is fast (instant) vs 1Password.

I had no idea you could share passwords with groups in Passwords app. Game changer, thank you!

Now I can easily share the Netflix and Disney Plus passwords without being asked for it every two weeks 🙄

Longtime 1Password customer here, and thanks for punishing my loyalty!

Have used 1Password for many years - took several years to get my family to use it. But, I'm finally there.

Got a little excited that there was a discount. Nope. Probably should have known better.

I even share my small business passwords with my team using a shared group. For free.

I'm still using 1P 7 and local vault and love it. Unfortunately the UI has become somewhat glitchy on Sonoma, so I'm going to have to switch to something different soon.

Passwords by Apple is not bad, but the lacking support for older operating systems (macOS and others), is sadly preventing me from using it.

Bitwarden with self-hosted backend seems to be the most flexible alternative for me right now.

Funny enough, a few days ago I switched from 1P v7 to Bitwarden it's a little clunky in places but it work fine.

Don't think I'll be going back.
They recently redid the browser UI and made some things take two clicks when they used to take one, which is annoying. Still by far the most functional password manager out there, imo.

Apple password app still lacks collections, editing websites is a no go, cross platform support and the biggest hole a separate password to secure.
As someone 100% in apples ecosystem I don’t need cross platform support. Only non Apple devices I use are my work computers that I’m not allowed to download software to anyway

One of the very few software subscriptions I have.

For me it always worked well while I had some sync issues with other solutions for example. Not the biggest fan of the Chromium based frontend but at least this made it available on all major platforms including Linux. The SSH agent feature is amazing and made SSH key management a breeze for me.

I'm the same as many of the others. still on old version — v7, before they moved to bloatware and subscription. I'm thinking about moving to Passwords.app

How does it work with other browsers than Safari?

There are apparently plugins for Firefox and Chrome, but I'm a BitWarden user, and the ability to add related notes and attachments is pretty important. Not sure I'll move to Passwords until that's a thing.

Strange, when I click on the link I see the deal, but when I go to pricing and actually want to purchase it, it still has the regular price -_-
Also Im still super happy with my 1p7, but my wife now needs it too :/

Been using EnPass local vault for a while (I absolutely refuse to store my passwords in the cloud under any circumstances) and it's fairly close functionality-wise to 1Password. They also offer a lifetime, 1-time purchase license option.

I still use 1Password v6 and save the older Firefox xpi to install manually in Firefox / Firefox DevEd / and I think I used it in Brave in the past. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to use completion in Safari as I don't have an older plug-in.

If you leave the mini-window open, it does have a small bug which slowly eats all of your ram - so close the window. It also runs under Rosetta just fine, even with ARM versions of Firefox. I sync to the latest version of 1Password on my phone via iCloud; i used to use the "wifi sync", but that doesn't seem to work any longer.

At some point, I'll move to something else.

There are some excellent shareware/free password managers out there that have been around for nearly 20 years. More recently Apple beefed up its password management and that comes for free with the OS.

I love my apple passwords app! I wish it would be available for older apple devices too. And it is so nice that it is not behind apple subscription paywall!
