Lovin' me some serious bezel, there! Would it actually scale-up with the new larger dims, or is this just a terrible concept??

The never see a stylus people are missing the point BIG TIME. If you need a style to operate the device , you have failed. Imagine having to use a stylus on an iPhone just to send a text message!. A stylus on a tablet as an additional optional input device is good if you need that fine detail, but if you need a stylus just to load Safari on a tablet and browse Macrumors the device is a fail. That is the context in which Jobs hated styluses, all those yacky PDA's 90's/00's that you could not navigate without one on.

This. I don't think some people understand what was meant by a 'stylus' back then.

When I think stylus I think:

I would love an iPad Pro if

1) it has configurable specs like a Mac
2) it has Final Cut Pro for iOS
3) it has an interface optimized for the big screen

The real world is in exponentially higher resolution. If high resolution is a problem for you, you probably can't pass the eye test for a drivers license.

Read my post, not what u think it means. If i was referring to all high res screens i would have said so.

Yeah, I got burned (literally) so bad on the iPad 3 also. That thing ran so hot it just fried. Luckily I had already bought a newer iPad so I just gave the 3 away, so I didn't really lose anything and neither did the person I gave it to but still. Apple just swept that one under the rug.
Apart from the 400 bucks for the iPad 3, you are right, you didn't lose anything..

This is unfortunate because I was hoping for a 12" screen, not 13". Not a huge deal but I think 12" is more idea for something like a tablet. I wonder if the bezels are even smaller? I was also hoping for a little bit more of a 16:10 ratio. We don't need much height on the current iPad, just some width on the side for tool controls and things of that nature while drawing or editing photos. That also helps keep down the overall size and weight.

3) it has an interface optimized for the big screen
That is the most important thing. The "iPhone on steroids" interface is already feeling very kludgy on a regular iPad. A Pro device has to have a better interface. For that matter the whole iPad line needs an optimized interface. Sounds like iOS9 is starting to do this.

iPad 6,8? Maybe this is a clue as to whether or not we will see an iPad Air 3 this year?

Beat me to it. I was just thinking this. They wouldn't create 8 different models with 2 iPads. They generally do 3 with each iPad, Wi-fi, Wi-fi+Cellular, and another one which is some international model or something. But 4 seems OTT. The only one which has had 4 is the iPad 2, which had separate GSM and CDMA models.
So yes, I think we will see a 3rd iPad Air.

This is pretty good for a 4:3 tablet. 5.6 million pixels.

My Galaxy Tab S has a really nice resolution of 2560x1600, at 16:9 and 8.4" (4.1 million pixels), and media consumption is great.

Hoping for OLED on the iPad Pro, though. Let's hope Apple finally moves to this superior and more efficient display technology.

That's really good memory, the iPad 2 had a 2,4 model with a 32nm version of the A5.

And I think so, too. If those supposed A9X Geekbench scores are real (around 10% more for each type of score), perhaps they really did decrease the size of the battery again in order to accommodate a force-touch display (they've already decreased it twice with the iPad Air and the iPad Air 2). The increased efficiency of the new manufacturing process would go towards ensuring the 10-hour battery life with a smaller battery.

This would also explain the supposed 1,715mAh battery that was seen recently as the potential battery for the iPhone 6s, though I really hope I'm wrong!
