Maybe you should have quoted my further text on the topic:

There are issues with that at least here in the US. Shopping Malls are "public" places, yet the they are at the same time "private" or "by invitation of the owner" only. Meaning that the Mall security can ask you to leave at any point.

The issue is grayer with airports, since I know of no "public" airport that is private. Most are controlled one way or another by semi-governmental bodies.
