2 gigs per month plan

    I was just wondering about those who are on or will be on the 2 gig per month plan. How large a file to download a firmware or update to the current iPad would be and would it exceed the 2 gig maximum for that particular month? I know it would only reflect for 1 month, but just curious as to how large a file update for an iPad would expect to be. Thanks for a reply.....:confused:

    Why would you download an iPad update over 3G? Why not do it over wifi?

    You can't download the os updates directly. You must use a computer.

    iPad firmware updates are done through iTunes on your Mac or PC and don't use your iPad data plan to download. App updates are a different story and vary greatly depending on the application.

    I am on the unlimited plan now, and certain downloads are restricted :(

    For something like a firmware update my guess is that you will have to do that through iTunes though. Probably safer that way because of the back up of the iPad data...

    Okay, thanks for the replies, so I guess any downloads to the iPad must go thru iTunes then on my iMac.
