I might go to the store. I wouldn't really mind a 3-5 day turn around with calling though. Do you have to pay return shipping, or do they send you a box or something? I wish they'd just choose vendors who made identical screens. This is kind of frustrating.

They send you a box, and they also pay for shipping. :)

Judging from the angle of the photo, it looks like the photo was taken more to the left. From my own experience, the viewing angle of the new iPad is like PN panel where if you look at it from like 45 degree angle either side, you'll notice the drop of brightness which in turn affects the color. Still, it's fine as a device for a single user who's going to look at it from close to 90 degree angle (perpendicular).

I think we're way off to see 27 inch Apple monitor with retina resolution based on the finding. Tiny iPhone screen is no problem but even 9.7 inch screen seems to tax the LED too much.

There was another thread about this "reddish hue". I had it on mine on the right hand side and lower left corner and it annoyed me so I went to exchange it.

Samsung myth

My first 2011 13" Macbook Air was a Samsung screen (and the SSD). Never mind the yellow cast, there was several areas on the bottom of the screen that was dimmer. Looking at the screen it was always like there's something in my eye. It was one of the most annoying thing as far as flaws on a new laptop. I exchanged it. The new one (which I'm typing on right now) is a double-whammy according to some - LG screen and Toshiba SSD. The LG screen does not have the yellow cast and looks more vibrant, and the Toshiba SSD feels every bit as fast as the Samsung. In fact the Toshiba has higher random access than the Samsung.

LG screen on left, Samsung screen on right. I don't know how Samsung screens are so over-hyped, but don't believe the hype.

I would exchange it.. I can't tolerate dull screens, even though I love my Panny VT30 Plasma :p

Also, how do I figure out if my screen's Sammy or LG ? Thanks!!! :)

Definitely a dud...i just found out that the entire upper LEDs are exposed.

Pics showing the awful red tint, the (minor, rather good actually) backlight bleed, and this mystery problem of the LEDs actually showing:
