The Web site cited two reasons why the 5C deserves to fail:


Only a rehash - It noted that the 5C was 2012's model "whacked with the ugly stick" to make it look like a more affordable, fun version." However, the phone doesn't feel like an Apple product, while costing so much. So why get a 5C when a 5S just cost a little bit more? Techradar, however, pointed out that this is not the first time that Apple pulled a fast one on consumers by using the same components in a new case and passing it off as a new product. Another is the iPad Mini which is just the iPad 2 in a small size.


Half-hearted roll out - Techradar pointed out that 5C was not given killer features, yet it selling the device at a price not worth its content that there is no incentive to own one. It added that by releasing the 5C, Apple was eyeing a larger slice of the affordable market, forgetting that Apple customers are unlikely the types who quibble over the price tag.

Only a rehash? No sh**. It breaks the pattern of the old model being reduced by $100. They made it plastic to get more money and advertise it as new. Welcome to business 101. It most definitely feels like an Apple product and actually the colors are nice IMO. Typing this on my mini. Wouldn't have bought the bigger one..

Not worth it, huh? Being an iPhone 5 it already has one of the best cameras. It also got an improved isight camera. Benchmarks beat many Androids and with iOS 7 it gets many new tricks.

Honestly, Apple doesn't deserve this much hate. Where are the reviewers bashing the gear? That thing sucks. How about the Note 3? Bigger screen and faux leather (yawn). Some nifty OS stuff, but they gave the same damn phone again.

Please think for yourself and don't follow "pros". They don't know anything but click baiting.

I don't know why people are so bent on kicking the 5C to the curb. It's as if some folks want Apple to fail. What kind of pathetic person sits around thinking of ways for a company to fail?

If Apple had failed in 2006, we'd all still be using flip phones. And half the basement dwelling idiots who yammer on and on about how much Apple sucks have never even owned an Apple product. Clearly, some people's obsession with Apple's failure is a direct projection of their own miserable existence.

The bottom line is, the 5C is a 5, housed in a cheaper plastic shell, created solely to fulfill Apple's commitments and clear back stock. Rather than sell the 5 at a reduced profit, they reduced costs by ditching the expensive housing, while simultaneously creating the illusion of a new product launch.

It's win win for Apple...they're selling day old donuts with a fresh but cheap sugar glaze instead of an expensive maple glaze.

And it's win win for Apple fans. As long as Apple can dump last year's tech profitably, they'll have more piles of money laying around to fund the constant flow of returns of this year's phone for a speck of dust or a .025nm scratch, and allow all the schizoids to exchange their phones every 3 days for a different color and capacity.

Not only is this thread stupid for passing this dumb article along, but TechGAYdar is beyond stupid for their reasoning. Using their logic, here's what I have come up with:

1. The MacBook Pro is nothing more than a fat MacBook Air

2. The MacBook Air is Apple trying to pull a fast one by selling us a laptop without a cd drive.

3. The Mac Mini is nothing more than an iMac without a screen.

4. The iPod Touch is the biggest ripoff of all. It's an iPhone WITHOUT A PHONE.

I love my iphone 5C BECAUSE of the plastic. My iPhone 5 was all dented and banged up, and so are all my friend's.

My 5C, which I've had since OCT 2nd looks perfect! (Zagg HD on the screen)

I personally don't like the 5c but the iPad Mini comparison is a bit stupid. It's arguable that the Mini case is better than the ipad 2's. They're also both aluminium.

I'm with you 100%. Comparing the 5C to the Mini is dumb.

I own an iPad 3 and I enjoy it enough. However I went to the Apple store to browse and while doing so played with the mini. I loved it. Not because it was cheaper but because it was different (mini). I saw value in its size.

The 5C isn't different, it's a 5 in a cheaper case. I see no value there. I'm sure if the iPad mini was an iPad 2 in a plastic case I would not have been interested in the slightest.

Btw I have nothing against the 5C. If someone likes it then by all means buy it.
