Well when Apple refreshed there NoteBook LineUp back in October I thought they would at least give the MacBook 3 USB Ports and the MacBook Pro 4 USB Ports. Come on, Apple. I know Laptops from 4 YEARS AGO that have 5 USB Ports. No Joke. What do you guys think about this. Although this is not keeping me from buying the new 2.4ghz MacBook, I just want to know what you guy think. Also I think the MacBook price should be lowered $200 =)

Thanks for your consulting job there OP 😉

I'm sure Apple will take these recommendations straight to the top 😛

i use a wired keyboard + mouse and plug in an external hard drive at the house when i'm working at my desk at the house.

what else do you really need at one point in time.

if you use newer (minus the beautiful logitech MX revolution) mouses+keyboards... they usually run on bluetooth.. so you'd have 2 free ports.

if you have that many things to plug in, why not add a hub, obviously things couldn't be 'tidy' if you have the need for 5 usb devices haha 🙂

what do YOU need more than 2 for?

true, but do you really need all those USB when traveling? i just use my USB hub if i need more usb cables going to my computer, and I've only needed a max of four at a time.
If we're starting there, we might as well bring a portable HDD. Who needs 250GB at one time? I can always use an external device but that isn't the point. No, I'm not going to demand another, but it would be rather nice. Even more limiting is the space between the USB ports and mini-DP port. It's almost as if they didn't consider the MDP cable's bulky connector to VGA/DVI/HDMI.

On a desk? Use a USB hub!
On the road? What do you need more than 2 USB ports for??!

Switch to Bluetooth. Buy a USB hub. Problem solved.

If you want more USB ports... go by a big bulky ugly PC notebook. If you've ever had a look at the logic board of a MB you would know why there is only two.

I have seen the logic board, that doesn't change my stance that I would like more USB ports.

What about a HDMI port? Or a VGA port? Or a serial port, a modem port, a PS/2 port, a fingerprint scanner, and a 35-in-5 card reader?

There's an obvious distinction between mass-market technology and and out-dated floppy drives or PS/2 ports.🙄

Again, there's a distinction between wanting to have something and having something effectively added to the system. I understand that, in its current state, it cannot be added.

Well thanks for letting us all know that you would like more USB ports on the MB. We all feel much better about our lives now that we know your opinion. 🙄

Last I recall, this was a public forum. It was not I who decided to pursue my opinion with arguments that more USB ports aren't necessary. I disagreed and shared my opinion on the matter. If I am on-topic, I shall let my opinion be heard to those who wish to listen; I see no reason why you should have discrepancies with that fact.

2 USB ports is kind of limiting, but after a while I got used to it.

Also on the MacBook, it would have been nice if they implemented FW by adding it to the Ethernet port and then sell a Ethernet to FW adapter.
