The plan was to get a case, but we've been so busy over the past few weeks that we haven't had the chance to hit up the mall for cases.

We cancelled our old phones years ago because we really didn't need them (rather save the cash). Our twins are starting school next month so we felt the need to get phones in case the school needs to get in touch with us. So it made sense to get cell phones again.

I guess it has been weird trying to get used to always having a phone on you again. She's a medical assistant so she wears medical scrubs at work. And of course, they don't have pants pockets. So in a pinch, she needed to put the phone down for something and quickly just put it in the shirt pocket, totally forgetting it was there. Next thing she knew, she bent over to get something, and plop!

Just buy here a Motorola F3.

Just got one myself; cheap, good quality and I'm not afraid of losing it!

ive had 2 generations of phone.. only time I dropped it was the original iphone.. I dropped it in the grass, so it was like it didnt drop at all :p

I carry it around like its a newborn baby.

I will never, never drop my iPhone 3G. I dropped my first gen once on concrete and dented it. I can only imagine the cracks and damage that would happen to the 3G if dropped on concrete. It's sad to say it but we really can't handle these like typical cell phones. Apple did not design the iPhone to withstand much abuse at all without seriously showing a lot of damage. If I treated my iPhones like I treated my Nokia and Motorola phones they would not last a week. When I bought the iPhone I knew I was buying a "designer" gadget, not a rugged, toss it in your glove-box type of cell-phone. iPhones are meant to be used carefully, otherwise you're in for a world of hurt.
